Recent reversion (WP:CAPFRAG)
Hi Floydian,
I see that you reverted a couple of my edits, with the explanation usually we take that to mean "no period unless there is multiple sentences in the caption".
But, with all due respect, a careful reading of WP:CAPFRAG will show that that is not the case. How? Please consider the following:
They are careful to give three examples.
The first ("The Conservatory during the festival") is not a sentence. So no period, because it's a fragment.
The second ("The stage was spotlit for the festival.") is a single sentence. Notice that it does get a period.
The third ("The Conservatory during the festival. The stage was spotlit for the occasion." is a mix of both types. The first part is not a sentence; it is a fragment. The second part is a sentence, but both parts get periods.
This third example is merely a way to illustrate what they meant when they said "If any complete sentence occurs in a caption, then all sentences, and any sentence fragments, in that caption should end with a period or full stop.
This is probably where you thought that only multiple sentences in captions get periods, but that's not the case. :)
If I have explained it sufficiently, can you please restore my edit?
Thank you. Have a nice day, and a happy new year! Sincerely, 1980fast (talk) 07:45, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
- You are correct, although perhaps that guideline could use some revisiting. In several of the community reviews I have taken other articles through, the periods have generally been removed from all but captions with multiple sentences. For this reason I have that standardised across most of the articles of WP:ONRD. Perhaps you might consider checking through similar articles and make adjustments as warranted. Happy New Years! - Floydian τ ¢ 00:40, 5 January 2021 (UTC)

I figured out something
It will be entirely possible to have different infobox shields and Jct/Jcon shields in the same module.
Obviously, everything is flipped around for now, but it's a proof of concept! –Fredddie™ 23:47, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- Cool cool, getting very close to the point where jcon and jct can produce identical results. I need to do a sweep through every ONRD article, so I'll try to jot down a bunch of testcases that are non-standard or extreme examples. - Floydian τ ¢ 00:14, 13 February 2021 (UTC)
- The IBR CAN testpage has a few errors wrt county/regional roads. I'll fix the MB error as I make the rounds. –Fredddie™ 00:36, 13 February 2021 (UTC)

Ooooh its getting there! - Floydian τ ¢ 06:14, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah I'm pretty happy with how it's coming. Basically I need to figure out the CR/RR shield situation and then go through each country's IBR shieldmain and name templates and make sure they're reflected correctly in the string modules. Then I have to figure out the color module. I want to get it to use Wikipedia:TemplateStyles somehow. –Fredddie™ 08:15, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- I'm such an idiot. The CR/RRs weren't working because the infobox uses
|type=CR
whereas Jct uses|type=County
. I made some aliases and everything's good. –Fredddie™ 04:32, 9 March 2021 (UTC)

SVG maps
Hello!
Apologies for the intrusion. I noticed that you swapped out the map on Ontario Highway 407 from an interactive one to an updated vector file. Since I'm assuming that this is the norm with 400-series highways, I wanted to ask if you were interested in making versions for Highways 412 and 418 if you weren't doing so already.
Thank you! TextClick (talk) 22:26, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
- My sincere apologies. I was originally not going to ask you this, but would you also be able to help me with this as well? On the page Ontario Highway 407, User:Transportfan70 created raster files for the junctions with Highways 412 and 418 in the infobox. User:Fredddie has already created some vector versions based off Ontario MOT's traffic manual here: . Since I lack the knowledge and expertise necessary, could you help me add them to the road data string module here: Module:Road data/strings/CAN/ON?
Thanks again! TextClick (talk) 23:41, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
- Fredddie has been actively rebuilding the templates, so I believe he will get that inserted shortly enough. As for the maps, as much as I like interactive, the static image they display for an infobox is often pretty terrible. I've updated several of the 400-series recently, but I'm working on a map with a better zoomed inset of the GTA for the 404, 407, 409, 410, 412, 418, and 427. - Floydian τ ¢ 01:39, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
- I see, thank you! TextClick (talk) 02:12, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
- Looks like I got it to go... the {{jcon}} template actually runs off another parser at this time. You can now set {{jcon|Toll|412}} and get Highway 412 - Floydian τ ¢ 02:20, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
- Great! I've also gone ahead and replaced all the jcons on all of the highway pages which intersect Highways 407, 412, and 418. Thanks for getting it to work! TextClick (talk) 03:13, 11 March 2021 (UTC)

Welland
Its interesting that the point about geographical bias with Google came up in the 1st RM. I normally acknowledge this bias in my nominations (such as at Talk:Bellingham#Requested move 25 April 2020) but forgot this time. There was a RM in 2018 where I noted I got almost no results for a place in Scotland when Googling from England. Crouch, Swale (talk) 21:39, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
- There once was ways of changing Google results to get rid of geographical bias. Now your only bet is a VPN/proxy or an alternative search engine. - Floydian τ ¢ 04:42, 12 March 2021 (UTC)
- WP:DPT gives a modified Google string that used to return non-geographical biased searches for me years ago however after a while I started getting personalized searches again. What do you get if you search for Lewis in Google and would you have supported my RM there? Crouch, Swale (talk) 19:48, 12 March 2021 (UTC)

Your DYK was pulled from the queue and placed in prep 6 by Amakuru on April 8 with the edit summary, "swapping Sussex Drive and Thousand Islands Highway, per query I will raise about Sussex Drive hook". The query hasn't happened yet...and I tried to help out by asking Amakuru about it on their talk page on April 9, but I haven't heard anything back. SL93 (talk) 05:12, 11 April 2021 (UTC)
