Hi, I just wanted to pick you up on what you've said on the Holloway talk page. You use the word "defeat" which I must challenge you on. This word would suggest that we've had a battle and that you've lost. It isn't a battle and we do not claim any kind of victory over you. We have not beaten you, won anything, or have overcome you in a contest. We have simply disagreed with you. That's all. I think you should perhaps use less emotive language around here if you are to build healthy relations with other editors. CassiantoTalk 20:52, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you fair enough. Yes the language was hyperbolic, I apologize, and of course I didn't feel something like the battle is lost but the war is not over. The other user was going to bring the conversation in another direction that is uniquely about me, which is fine but I felt had no place on Holloway' talk page. I will be the bigger man next time copy and paste the conversation and bring it to the other user' page, when (hopefully not) it occurs again.
I do have feedback on the Terry-Thomas page and since you have worked on it. There is a minor element that is wrong.
In 1967 Terry-Thomas met his long-time friend Denholm Elliott in Bel Air and the pair talked about Elliott's new villa in Santa Eulària des Riu on the Spanish island of Ibiza. Terry-Thomas was intrigued by the possibility of a Mediterranean retreat and visited the island on the way to film Monte Carlo: C'est La Rose with Princess Grace of Monaco who was playing herself.
It should go: In 1967 Terry-Thomas met his long-time friend Denholm Elliott in Bel Air and the pair talked about Elliott's new villa in Santa Eulària des Riu on the Spanish island of Ibiza. Terry-Thomas was intrigued by the possibility of a Mediterranean retreat and visited the island on the way to work on Monte Carlo: C'est La Rose a television special hosted by Princess Grace of Monaco.
I am currently working on the page Monte Carlo: C'est La Rose feel free to use my citations.

Fresh Kid Ice
Thank you for the thank you regarding Fresh Kid Ice's page. I submitted it for a review, so hopefully we will at least get a "Good" rating!
Do you think we should add a Discography section?
Lastly, I saw that you worked on Wong Won's The Chinaman album page too. We should probably work through and add all of his albums at some point, even if they wind up being stub pages.
Take care! Sundevilesq (talk) 00:17, 10 August 2019 (UTC)
- Hey friend, I gave it C rating today. I would never up vote after my editing, but I made an exception since you edited it. I actually down voted the Christopher Lambert article on which I worked due to the poor use of my citation, when I didn't know what was accepted or not.
I do not think it is yet ready for an Good article check mark some of the citations I used at the time were from sites that were unacceptable to Wiki's standards.
http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Perennial_sources
I would be glad to help you with any articles.Filmman3000 (talk) 18:56, 13 August 2019 (UTC)
- I just got an email from the reviewer that gave the page a "C" class, and he said it could probably be upgraded if we fixed a few issues, namely, (1) the intro is too long (told you!) - per Wiki standards, it should only be 3 paragraphs that summarize the main article (2) the imdb cites need to be replaced (3) the iTunes cite needs to be replaced (4) it's Billboard 100 not RIAA 100 (I will change that now).
- Also, I did a Google search on Amazing Vee (Yuri Vielot) and either he, or his son, got totally SCREWED in Court in Maryland for a fatal vehicular accident. He fell asleep at the wheel and hit 3 construction workers on the side of the road, killing 2. He had zero alcohol or drugs on board. To me, this seems like a horrible tragedy and an ACCIDENT. Should he have been held civilly liable, sure, but CRIMINAL? He's doing 13 years on it. Crazy. Sundevilesq (talk) 05:52, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
- Ok let's compact his intro to three paragraph totally on board.
- The second half I don't know anything about it.Filmman3000 (talk) 09:38, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
- I have trimmed Wong Won's intro to 489 word so it's just slightly lengthier compared to Aaliyah's (featured article) intro of 405.Filmman3000 (talk) 11:54, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
Need Help with Fresh Kid Ice's Freaky Chinese album page!
Some wikieditor has it marked for deletion primarily because it "didn't chart." Can you PLEASE add a comment and oppose/deletion! Sundevilesq (talk) 04:59, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
Hey buddy we did our best, however I will make my case to the admin later down the line. I suggest we do nothing now and take it easy.
I have an account with newspapers if you want to unlock press for some articles.Filmman3000 (talk) 05:42, 23 August 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Sundevilesq. I am guessing it was done in ignorance, but this was a pretty clear case of WP:CANVASSING. That's a fairly serious no no around here. Please don't do it again. Thanks. -Ad Orientem (talk) 06:17, 23 August 2019 (UTC)
Freaky Chinese
Hi Filmman3000. I wanted to provide you with a bit more depth on my close of the AfD since you seem to disagree with it. AfD discussions are WP:NOTAVOTE. They are collegial discussion and the close is based on the weight of argument based on our WP:PAG. In this case, there was very little argument presented citing policy and guidelines in favor of retaining the page. The first Keep essentially conceded that the article failed NALBUM. One Keep was struck. And that left yours which did not clearly lay out a PAG based rational for keeping the page. Those who were opposed to retention were clear in their arguments that the page substantively failed our notability guidelines. I am sorry you disagree with the close but after reviewing the discussion again, I am satisfied that it was a correct reading of CONSENSUS. Redirection was the least disruptive course and so it was the one I went with per ATD and CHEAP. I hope this helps you understand my decision. Thank you for your work on the project and best regards... -Ad Orientem (talk) 05:10, 23 August 2019 (UTC)
No problem buddy. My argument was posted in a comment section below. It is Flo Rida first recordings on an official release. This Pop rapper is now a monster star.
I do intent to make a case about at some point in the future and do not intent to war edit.Filmman3000 (talk) 05:29, 23 August 2019 (UTC)
Sourcing for Freaky Chinese (and a concern about Still Nasty)
Hi - thanks again for your words on Ad Orientem's talk page - in all honesty, I have no interest in removing material from Wikipedia because the subject it covers might be distasteful to some - if I was trying to do that, these albums would be a long way down the list! I am however concerned about removing articles on subject that do not meet our notability guidelines.
If I interpreted you correctly, I think you were saying that there is significant coverage of Freaky Chinese that can be accessed at Newspapers.com - I have access to NewspaperARCHIVE.com through the Wiki library, and have been intending to apply for Newspapers.com as well, so this is a useful spur to getting on with that. Notability does not diminish over time, so if old newspapers give it significant coverage, sufficient to satisfy the demands of the notability guidelines, then I would support the recreation of the page.
On a related but slightly different matter, while looking further into articles about this artist, I had a look at Still Nasty. I'm concerned that it has the same problems as Freaky Chinese, in that there is no claim to notability via WP:NALBUM, and insufficient sourcing to satisfy WP:GNG. I mean, there aren't any actual citations at all, just an EL to an AllMusic track listing. I have looked for sourcing myself online, and have found nothing apart from reviews on UGC fan sites, and passing mentions in articles that are about the artist himself. Based on what I've found, I would be inclined to redirect the title to Fresh_Kid_Ice#Discography, and to take it to AfD if that was contested; however, before doing that, I wanted to come here and discuss it with you, so that you would have the chance to add any additional sources that you are aware of - I don't want to cause any additional drama if it can be avoided, or to give you the impression that I'm trying to harass you with these concerns. Do you think there is more coverage out there that could be added to the article? Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 21:36, 24 August 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for your kind reply,
- In regards to newspapers.com I was just offering you to unlock a dozen article of choice, as a friendly gesture.
- Regarding Freaky Chinese the only element of notability with it are the fact that current rap megastar Flo Rida who's been charting for over 15 years. He made his first appearance on an official release. By that I mean a CD with a Code-bar.
- There were more articles about that online. Since I worked on both page.
- In a way one could argue that were part of retrospective articles on one or the other's career but are recurrent. For some reason these bios emphasizing this specific album coming from good websites have disappeared. I found out about archiving articles way after the fact.
- I also think one could argue, even if I had all the articles that it isn't an overwhelming amount. I think if I had the articles that I am sure I saw back then, were still around there would be ten.
- I think that is a good enough reason to make the cut. Currently we have two Fresh Kid Ice articles mentioning it and two Flo Rida articles mentioning it.
- Regarding the other two solo albums I have to currently agree, with your verdict. On fan boards regarding these two other solo albums, it is often mentioned that they were a favourite of a show call Bet Uncut, but no articles have been made about it. That may emerge one day, but it won't be from me unless I have solid sources.
- Good call with the redirect you chose, though I don't agree with it when it comes to Freaky Chinese. It is much better to have it redirect to the discography. ThanksFilmman3000 (talk) 02:47, 25 August 2019 (UTC)
- In the short future, I'll check newspapers.com about them I don't know why I didn't cross my mindFilmman3000 (talk) 02:58, 25 August 2019 (UTC)
- I see what you're saying about Flo Rida, but NALBUM is pretty clear on this -
That an album is an officially released recording by a notable musician or ensemble is not by itself reason for a standalone article.
Even if it was entirely his own work, rather than just something he'd appeared on, we need discussion of the album in RS in order for it to pass GNG, or for it to tick one of the other boxes at NALBUM like charting or winning a major award or whatever. As I say, if you can dig up some RS for either of these, I'll chime in on any discussion to support their recreation if they clearly pass GNG. For now, I'll set up the redirect at Still Nasty. - Thanks for the offer about Newspapers.com - sorry I misunderstood you the first time, it's a kind offer, but as I say I'm planning to apply for access myself shortly. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 12:32, 25 August 2019 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Moxy. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Bruce Lee, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Moxy 🍁 23:58, 17 November 2019 (UTC) Hi Moxy,
I totally agree I have restored what you deleted. Do not re-delete I will type the logic I used and why I did so in the next several hours. My father is coming to pick up.
PS I added many citation to the article.Filmman3000 (talk) 00:00, 18 November 2019 (UTC)
- Moxy I am well aware of citations and their need. The Bruce Lee article lacks of citation and many of them come from contradicting sources. For example was Chuck Norris a student of Lee according to an unofficial biography yes according to Norris no. They trained and learned from each others.
- Furthermore the article said Norris and fellow actor George Lazenby were his pallbearer. Look at what I left in the talk page.
- Sorry got to go my family arrived. Will continue later.Filmman3000 (talk) 00:07, 18 November 2019 (UTC)
- All content must be verifiable. The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and it is satisfied by providing an inline citation to a reliable source that directly supports--Moxy 🍁 00:09, 18 November 2019 (UTC)
- I do not understand the capital letters as it would insinuate that you are yelling at me. I think I have been polite on my end of the spectrum. So no need for useless drama.
- A) The page is poorly cited. I added a substantial amount of citations.
- B) Have you been after previous editors who didn't cite this articles? Because before me there have been plenty.
- C) The info added regarding his friend section is partly meant to be there to avoid false information as whether Norris and Lazenby were pallbearer, which they are not according to the citation.
- D) The citation clearly points at individuals who are pall bearer and have a page of their own, some more notorious than other. So I took the stuff from their pages so you can see for yourself, and can find who posted the original information to reprimand them.
- E) You are getting excited over an article to according to the history of wikipedia where you haven't participated ever or since 2013 (I will not look beyond that)...
- F) There is ton of Bruce Lee mythos I haven't added anything that would play into that.Filmman3000 (talk) 02:22, 18 November 2019 (UTC)
- Don't copy and paste and add sources for information you add.--Moxy 🍁 04:06, 18 November 2019 (UTC)
- Not true I am allowed to copy and paste information if I explain "copied content from page name; see that page's history for attribution" you can look at previous topics by an admin who asked me to do that. Hence you can find the citation or the person who left an article un-cited.
- Also the info I added is highly reported unfortunately they are from martial arts websites. Which I am not sure are eligible.
- Don't ever tell me what I can and can't do. Especially when none of my points and questions are answered.
- Watch your tone because even if you come in good faith it takes away from it.
- And please why according to your profile you have been on wikipedia for 10 years, and suddenly on a badly cited article you jump on board and make it a big deal? Have you been after all the previous folks who left un-cited stuff? Seems odd to me.Filmman3000 (talk) 20:12, 18 November 2019 (UTC)
ArbCom 2019 election voter message
Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!
Hello,
Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.
I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!
From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.
If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.
Thank you!

Replaceable fair use File:David Winters.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:David Winters.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. With respect to non-free content, replaceability is not just about if you cannot find a free image of the subject, but also that one could not be created. For a living person, thwt is almost always the case that free image could be made. -- Whpq (talk) 12:37, 31 January 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks I didn't know that. I wont be doing it for living people anymore. You can delete it now if you want.
- Not on this one but the one above it, David Winters who passed away, I ran into an issue I wonder if you could give me your input. The subject was an actor in his teenage years without being a child star, there is one public domain photo of him performing in a play with others during this time. The subject had a diverse career in entertainment from his twenties on.
- I added his profile photo from Discogs onto here, in his young adulthood where he was near or was in the moment where he had a career breakthrough in other departments in media.
- I was asked my rationale as there is this public domain photo of him as a kid. I explained what I said above, and that since he is acting he is being someone else at the moment the photo is taken. I wish I also added that even if that is an important moment of his life it is not during the moment that made his notable at first. Let me know your thoughts, because I firmly believe I am right on this other one.Filmman3000 (talk) 02:16, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
- If I understand what you wrote above, you wanted to include a non-free image from a different point in the career of David Winters (choreographer). As there is already free images available, you would need to demonstrate why that particular image is required in order for a reader to be able to understand the biographical article. The justification you provided appears to amount to wanting to show the person at point in time of their career. That by itself would not meet WP:NFCC#8. You would need to provide significant sourced commentary about the image in order for contextual significance to be satisfied. As an example, I will point you to Farrah Fawcett where we do have free images of Fawcett but the article includes one piece of non-free content which is her iconic poster. That image is justified because of the significant sourced commentary about the poster thus meeting WP:NFCC#8 -- Whpq (talk) 20:01, 1 February 2020 (UTC)

- Thank you for your swift reply. The public domain photo is represent him in a direct period of his when he was child period which is important to his life but he is a teen, like the Fawcett poster it represent him at a period and a very young age. The photo is inappropriate for a profile/info box photo.
- One could make parallels with Winters and actor Elijah Wood. Just like Winters, Wood was an actor as a child and had important roles he was never a giant like his contemporaries the Macaulay Culkin or Corey Haim, and Wood maintained a serious steady career as an adult, where Haim and Culkin have long gaps without acting. Winters stopped acting and but continued working in the media industry in for dance choreography, directing and producing, for which he is more well known.
- The actual photo is without a doubt an important moment since it's from the first run of the successful stage play West Side Story and Winters was hired to act in the academy award winning film. If would argue from this angle I will say that not all the actors who went to the stage to the film have a Wiki page and those who while it is important it is not always the centre piece.
- Another this as you will half of his face his darken from the stage lightning, and his posing while looking away from the camera.
- The photo I suggest gives an idea of what the subject looked like as a young adult somewhere after West Side Story when he started his career in other departments most where he is most well known.
- The profile/info box photo that I think should be represents the man behind the work not a kid playing a character in a play. Hence these are the many reason why I think this photo is the one for it.
https://www.discogs.com/artist/1192849-David-Winters
- Don't get me wrong if we had a photo of him at the right age, with the right angle where it just happens to be him acting I would be fine with it, he just so young in this one.
- ThanksFilmman3000 (talk) 06:09, 2 February 2020 (UTC)
- You may choose to persist in your belief it is justified but my estimation is that any attemnpt to add such an image would likely be deemed to run afoul of one or both of WP:NFCC#1 and WP:NFCC#8. -- Whpq (talk) 03:42, 3 February 2020 (UTC)

April 2020
Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Weng Weng, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please note that a lot of your changes are very poorly written. There are various problems with a lot of the content on that page, please address on the talk page of the article before re-adding. JesseRafe (talk) 19:29, 7 April 2020 (UTC)
- Each time I go into an article, I look at the way featured article are standardized. Jessica Chastain (featured article) is the model I follow at all times for about a year, so debate with them in regards to style. When you win come back to me. In that regard, I have never ran into a problem since I do that when I decide to focus on an article.
- Within your assessment you accuse me of a lot. I have not ran into troubles for ages, I cite my work, and verify the reliability of the citation first by going there.
http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Perennial_sources
- If it's not there or a book. I try to see if the citation comes from to at least from a local newspaper or a small publication that isn't important enough to be in the Perennial sources.
- When it's a book I check if the author is somehow accepted to some degree by academia. Which is the case by the person who did his biography, and documentary. You can see that person giving lecture at Singapore Art Institute on YouTube, below are two newspaper articles about this person giving university lectures.
https://www.pressreader.com/philippines/philippine-daily-inquirer-1109/20190923/282372631330324 https://news.abs-cbn.com/ancx/culture/movies/09/22/19/how-the-early-pinoy-films-found-a-second-home-in-hawaii-and-ignited-an-industry
- But I don't see what sounds like something fan made, I am just writing an abridged version of what I saw in a documentary film and a book, while its author is approved in academia. Actually that attitude helped me delete a citation and a false fact in the Bruce Lee page that claimed Chuck Norris was a pallbearer, because I didn't believe the book and found it to be false.
- The book is available on Amazon and so is the film for an affordable price too. It's a great watch and read. Sometimes within those you have the actual newspaper articles where all that stuff was originally printed.
- I do not appreciate the fact that you have used word like "crap and nonsense", one is foul the other I consider false. I have used bad language here too but I did a massive effort to be more respectful with time. I try to avoid editors who do so.
- The sole criticism you give that I agree with and can improve upon is at one point I write "it is said", and did not write "who"... Fair enough. Just leave a "who" template like this one and I will respectfully fix it.----> He quotes Hamilton[who?] and Jefferson. Filmman3000 (talk) 23:42, 7 April 2020 (UTC)
Review of Rich Conaty page
Filmman3000 - I requested a review of the Rich Conaty biography page, and you upgraded it from Start to C. However, I still don't understand what needs to be improved about it for it to be raised to a higher level. So far as I know there is nothing in the public record that I can add to the article, so I assume the concerns are with style or formatting - or perhaps some of the details are considered irrelevant? Thanks for reaching out. The requirement for me to give a B-class, is that I like to see the article standardized to at least look like a featured article.
http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Wikipedia:Featured_articles#Music_biographies
Most featured article have a three paragraph long abbreviated version of the article for its lede section and usually do not have citation in them.
His early life was mixed with personal life. Which I already fixed.
"The Big Broadcast Section" shouldn't be but the content need to be mixed in career when you explain the show as its impact. I think that some its content should be in a "Legacy Section".
Here are some models that I apply for myself. In so far no host on TV and Radio made it to the featured article status. But since the guy did some relevant stuff as a jazz historian as well as musician I put a random historian. http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Aaliyah http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Pink_Floyd http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Benjamin_Morrell
Oh and here are random article about the I got about the guy that you can add. Let me know if you want me to drill anything for on newspapers.com. https://www.newspapers.com/clip/50298538/american-songbook-faces-crisis/ https://www.newspapers.com/clip/50298005/classics-case/ https://www.newspapers.com/clip/50298133/great-listening/

OK, thanks. I will try to finish cleaning it up in the next couple of days. Mgolden (talk) 17:59, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
- Looked at the personal and I separated his death from it.
- Was this another job or philanthropy?
- Aside from his radio show, Conaty worked as a driver of a bus for adults with disabilities.
- If it's philanthropy and if there is many acts of it you can create a philanthropy section, otherwise it should be in career. In both condition is it preferable to know when did he start driving and stopped.
- Another suggestion is try to milk as much citations you can from the web. Folks who decide on articles being good to featured seem to think the more the merrier. Obviously reliable sources.
- Good article.Filmman3000 (talk) 22:28, 6 May 2020 (UTC)

[1]. OK. So, what is a "genre film" and, more importantly, what is the title of the Wikipedia article about genre films? --R'n'B (call me Russ) 13:31, 17 September 2020 (UTC)

https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/genre_film genre film (countable and uncountable, plural genre films)

- I saw this while looking at CAT:G13 and have detagged it. It's quite promising, and I was a bit surprised to see it'd been moved from mainspace. It does need more sources, but I encourage you to get back to work on it. I've added a {{promising draft}} template that'll hopefully give you more time; I also recommend you remove the AfC tag, as AfC is in my experience a bit quick to reject.
