Read your messages. (See Copyright violation... above.) Stop adding copyrighted material to Wikipedia. It's a violation of both Wikipedia rules and federal law. It doesn't matter whether you cite the source - if you copy it word for word from the source it's a clear copyright violation. Don't do it again or I'll have to report you and you'll probably get blocked. 32.218.32.230 (talk) 22:12, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Listen up!!

[edit]

You do NOT have permission to copy word for word text on the city of Janesville's website. That's a copyright violation. Read the previous warnings. If you want to insert that text, you have to get the express written permission of the city. You also have to jump through all of Wikipedia's hoops to prove that you have that permission. You have done none of that. You need to read WP:PERMISSION and follow what it says. 32.218.39.22 (talk) 18:53, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You just don't get it, do you? Even if you provide a reference, you can't cut and paste copyrighted information into Wikipedia. Any reputable university would expel a student caught doing such a thing... 32.218.39.22 (talk) 19:35, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under license allowed by Wikipedia, then you should do one of the following:

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Janesville, Wisconsin saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved.

I've removed the text from Janesville, Wisconsin again and tagged the flag image for deletion again (though deleting the latter immediately would have been justified). You must prove ownership and provide a full, valid license release as described above before Wikipedia can use this image. The text is written in a non-encyclopedic tone and would be unsuitable for our article even if it were released under a suitable license.
If you consider to insert this text, or attempt to upload the image again without providing a license release, I will block you from editing without further warning. —Cryptic 20:23, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
