A belated welcome!

[edit]
The welcome may be belated, but the cookies are still warm!

Here's wishing you a belated welcome to Wikipedia, Epifanove! I see that you've already been around a while and wanted to thank you for your contributions. Though you seem to have been successful in finding your way around, you may still benefit from following some of the links below, which help editors get the most out of Wikipedia:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Again, welcome! Tails Wx 21:58, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User Warning

[edit]

This was probably an accident, but for the future, make sure that my username is not used when you are giving editors warnings. If you want to warn people easier, I'd recommend you use a tool like Twinkle. TheManInTheBlackHat (Talk) 12:38, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, thats really odd. I used the vandalism1 template and it showed up as my username. Epifanove💬 12:40, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Weird, not sure why that's acting that way. TheManInTheBlackHat (Talk) 12:41, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Jut FYI

[edit]

Hi, keep up the good anti-vandalism work. Just bear in mind that warning templates need to substituted. As TMITBH says above, Twinkle will save you a lot of typing, and it has custom warnings for different kinds of problem edits. What I actually came here to say was that we have a much lower tolerance for commercial spam than we do for childish vandalism so if you spot someone adding spam links to multiple pages, feel free to report them straight to AIV. Best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 13:45, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I see, I'll use Twinkle in that case.
Will also report straight to AIV from now on, thank you for the information. Epifanove💬 14:25, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Only for the really obvious spammers though. Everyone else gets a couple of chances before we drop the banhammer on them. :) HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 14:36, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Unless they're an LTA, they've already had their chances so they get the banhammer immediately. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 16:56, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
LTA? Epifanove💬 17:00, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, short for Long-term abuse. Some of them have thier own LTA page here on Wikipedia (see WP:LTA), however we've stopped creating them in recent years from what I"ve noticed since it tends to just give them more attention which is a violation of WP:DENY. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 17:01, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ah alright, good to know. Does seem a good idea to not dedicate pages to vandals anymore, even though Wikipedia:Deny recognition isn't official policy it has a very good point. Epifanove💬 17:22, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yep! By the way, if you want any help with making your signature better, feel free to ask me. I'm more than willing to help you. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 17:24, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Haha are you implying that it sucks currently? Jokes aside I would actually like to have it in dark green, but when I tried to add that in CSS it didn't seem to work. If you could show me how to do that I'd be very grateful, thanks :) Epifanove💬 17:27, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm... it seems that for whatever reason the link color is overriding the text color. I'll see what I can do. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 17:41, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'll ask at WP:VPT cause I have no clue why the link color is overriding the color of the text that it's set to. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 17:44, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe something like a:visited { color: red; } could work? Epifanove💬 17:46, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I ran some tests on my sandbox, unfortunately nothing worked while comparing to Salvio giuliano's signature. Tails Wx 18:10, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted

[edit]

Hi Epifanove. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or RedWarn.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 10:54, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Mitchell, will do my best! Epifanove🗯️ 11:11, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Free State Gold Rush

[edit]

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Free State Gold Rush you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by ChristieBot, on behalf of Johannes Schade -- Johannes Schade (talk) 22:02, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Johannes Schade that is great to hear, thank you. Epifanove🗯️ 11:08, 18 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Epifanove, I am glad we have at last made contact. Please, do not get discouraged by my negative remarks on the review. Perhaps, I was too much influenced by your low edit count and felt that you nominated a GA too early in your career. You seem to be a vertical starter; you have created three articles and are already into administrative activities as a rollbacker. Of course these circumstances should not influence the GA review. I myself am not a very experienced wikipedian and my experience is almost exclusively in biographies. I have only two GAs. Let us dicuss on the review page, i.e. Talk:Free State Gold Rush/GA1. Best regards, Johannes Schade (talk) 20:08, 18 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Of course I am not discouraged, I am grateful you took the time to give feedback on the article I wrote. Im finding myself inordinately burdened with work recently, but I hope I will find the time to evaluate your remarks in-depth. Thank you! Epifanove🗯️ 20:50, 18 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Free State Gold Rush
