Given conflict of interest

[edit]

Generally, Wikipedia suggests that that authors do not add content that is referenced by their own work. Hence, the suggestion to go to Talk:Games and learning and propose the text and reference(s) you want to add there. Best if you & co-authors and name of book are not added. This sentence is considered to be spamming your book into the article(s) "A comprehensive introduction to the latest research and theory on learning and instruction with computer games is available in the Handbook of Game-based Learning edited by Plass, Mayer, and Homer (2020)." Instead, just find a place to add the reference to your book into the existing text.

Separately, if you make and edit and another editor reverts it, the proper next step is to open a discussion on the Talk page of the article to seek consensus. Adding the content back again without a discussion is considered edit-warring, and can lead to a temporary block from any editing. Typically 31 hours (enough time to cool off).
