Hey

[edit]

Just a heads up: it's a good idea to discuss splits on the talk page and with the users maintaining the article. Also, is there a reason for the name change? I noticed several versions of Albedo's last name get hits, but where did you get this one specifically? Thanks. Deckiller 21:59, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I do agree that, eventually, we can give Wilhelm, Gaignun, Albedo, and Margulis their own articles. We should probably wait until we get the main articles all squared away, however. Deckiller 22:06, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, I just noticed that a fellow user redirected the page. I'm going to restore it. I think we should probably hold a discussion about it. Thank you for responding. Deckiller 04:32, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Basially, at the top of the page, you will see a "discussion" tab. Click on that, and it will take you to a discussion page. I posted the topic on the talk page for Albedo Piasora, which can also be found here: Talk:Albedo Piasora.
Also, if Piasora is indeed the english translation, it should be the form used, since this is the english version. However, we'll need to cite some sources and change all the uses. Deckiller 04:36, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, here are some great policies and tips to help you out, since you're new with the cite:

I look forward to seeing your future work! Deckiller 04:50, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks...I'm beginning to think it's too much of a hassle, though, heh... Cyfin 04:53, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It does take a while to get used to, but there is plenty of stuff you can work on; you can always make a series of minor edits, fix factual errors, help out with the Xenosaga pages. There are a lot of policies to read, but usually you'll encounter some of them after accidently violating them. Deckiller 04:55, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Off topic, but do you have a friend on he bus who talks about this? This is a long shot, but I'm just checking :) Deckiller 04:56, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I was planning to do the minor edits. Sorry I'm being such a bother about this Albedo topic...I just really think it should stay up. I wouldn't have written it if I knew people were more for having Albedo remain on the listed villains. I just figured that nobody ever got around to writing one. X_x;;

And no, none of my friends are really into Xenosaga, unfortunately.Cyfin 04:58, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your decision goes under what we call WP:BOLD, meaning that you were bold in doing what you felt was right for the encyclopedia. And in the long run, having an article for Albedo, a major villain in two (perhaps three) hit games, is justified and appropriate. I only see one major problem with the article, and that's the minor amounts of speculation and original research, mainly dealing with the testament issue. Current events and ongoing events are always difficult to cover on Wikipedia, so it's fine. It was actually a great thing, because it woke us up to the fact that Xenosaga is starting to swing back around in popularity, especially with the upcoming release of Episode III. Deckiller 05:09, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah...I was just saying why his being a Testament is a possibility. I understand if it's sort of testing the limits. As for everything else in the article, I pretty much described every scene he was in, so hopefully I don't have too much speculation in there. Cyfin 05:12, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Not at all. We'll probably work on changing the plot summary into a detailed overview if people really want us to, but you are in no way being a bother. It's very rare that a user's first edit is creating a respectable article with solid information, which you have pretty much done. Deckiller 05:19, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Heh, thanks. That's why I'm so big on keeping it up and running, it took me forever to type it up, AND to figure out how to make those links, AND find where all the links should lead to...I pretty much learned a lot about Wikipedia WHILE typing it. Cyfin 05:22, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Nice, that's how I learned about Wikipedia, as well. I believe my first edit was creating the original Proto Merkabah article. Originally, there was about 80 Xenosaga pages, but people felt that it would be better if they were in lists by topic, instead of paragraph articles. That way, it's organized, and easily maintained/expanded/trimmed. Deckiller 05:25, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, here is my first "real" edit...it was under an IP address (meaning, I hadn't created an account yet): [1]. Deckiller 05:27, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hehe, that's cool! I actually had a lot of fun looking through all the lists in search of specific things though, I actually learned a few things about a game I'm obsessed with. And yeah, I had fixed up the Krelian article a bit with an IP address before I got an account. Cyfin 05:30, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. Anyway, I have to head on off to bed (half past midnight here), so see you around. Happy editing! Deckiller 05:33, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Alright. Thanks for all the help! Cyfin 05:34, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge

[edit]

Hey, I'm thinking about merging some of the list information into the main article that you created; probably only two or three sentenes. Deckiller 17:02, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I like that idea. It does cover some stuff that I didn't. Feel free to do to it what you want. Cyfin 17:05, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
All set. Deckiller 17:12, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. Cyfin 17:13, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, sure, I'll gladly help. I don't quite understand what you're doing though. "Insert name here"? Cyfin 17:27, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Each list is going to have its own subpage in my userspace while I make the changes from there. The lists themselves will be tagged with the "Inuse" template, which lets people know that a major edit is being made. Deckiller 20:30, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good. I'll help. Cyfin 09:50, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Hoffman.

[edit]

Hello, I saw you reply on the WikiProject talk page. I have copied Amanda's article into my fourth personal sandbox. At this moment, it is all hidden as most of it still talks about Amanda, but if you could help and get sources and maybe post them on that talk page, that'd be awesome. Any question? Just let me know. --HELLØ ŦHERE 22:01, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Chaos3.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Chaos3.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:32, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File permission problem with File:Wilhelm 2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Wilhelm 2.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 17:52, 2 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
