You have been indefinitely blocked from editing Wikipedia for continuing to add spam links. If you wish to make useful contributions, you may place {{unblock}} on your user talk page to have the block reviewed. Persistent spammers will have their websites blacklisted from Wikipedia. Request reason:

I have been reported and blocked for adding information to a sprinkler page, specifically the water mist section. I correctly added the company and people behind the initial testing and production of the water mist heads and Bristish Standards and I feel that I have been penalised for doing soCybahous (talk) 07:43, 11 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You have what Wikipedia calls a conflict of interest(please review) and a paid relationship with the company that you are required to disclose(when unblocked). You probably aren't going to be unblocked to edit about this company, at least in the short term. If you have other subjects you want to edit about, please tell what those might be. I am declining your request; if you make another, it will be reviewed by someone else. 331dot (talk) 13:54, 11 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

What is your connection to the company? 331dot (talk) 09:44, 11 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I was asked by this company to build them a new website whilst I convalesced at home (I was diagnosed with NH Lymphoma over the winter so I was unable to work as normal). I had no prior knowledge of Water Mist systems, or Sprinkler systems to be honest, so I tasked myself to find out more. The amount of information on Water Mist systems is minute compared the amount of information on sprinkler systems so I decided to use some of the data I had collected to update Wikipedia. The first place I went to for information was Wikipedia because I can usually find out about anything, but I was shocked to learn that hardly anything had been written about Water Mist systems which are now becoming very popular, especially in the education and tourism sector. I didn't mean to advertise, I only meant to educate. I have no links to Wikipedia on the website, in fact I have nothing to do with the SEO. I have only edited Wikipedia once before and didn't realise that I would cause this much fuss. My apologies, but I do think that the company, Premiermist and it's owner should get the recognition for the amount of time and effort they have put into this new type of fire prevention system. If the wording was wrong, I would be happy to reword it.

Stewart

I was not paid in any way, it was something to do whilst I was at home. I wanted a project and I met one of the managers at a chemotherapy session.

So you were providing your services to the company for free? 331dot (talk) 14:18, 11 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

That is correct, I wasn't paid anything or received and gratuities for my work. It was mainly therapeutic and practice for me coming back into work after a long time off. On the note of Watermist systems, I really do think that Wikipedia is lacking in information. New British Standards are being produced and with the fall out from Grenfell, many new sprinkler companies are appearing and wanting to know more about Water Mist Systems, How they work, who developed it, why it was developed and more.

You are free to make another request; if you do, it will be reviewed by someone else. 331dot (talk) 08:23, 12 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not believable. Your LinkedIn account says you're employed by them. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 08:39, 15 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've been talking to a moderator for a few days about my blocking. The moderator has asked me to request that someone else takes a look. The transcript is below:

Stewart: I have been reported and blocked for adding information to a sprinkler page, specifically the water mist section. I correctly added the company and people behind the initial testing and production of the water mist heads and British Standards and I feel that I have been penalised for doing so.

Wiki: You have what Wikipedia calls a conflict of interest(please review) and a paid relationship with the company that you are required to disclose

Stewart: I was asked by this company to build them a new website whilst I convalesced at home (I was diagnosed with NH Lymphoma over the winter so I was unable to work as normal). I had no prior knowledge of Water Mist systems, or Sprinkler systems to be honest, so I tasked myself to find out more. • Yeah, if you are employed by them, you are a paid editor. We have no way of knowing when you are "on the clock" at work or "off the clock" at home(whatever the reason is you are home). Even if we did, you are still editing at the request of your company. There's no way you are going to be unblocked to write about anything to do with your company. 331dot (talk) 10:46, 15 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
