DYK for Shooting of Walter Scott
On 5 July 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Shooting of Walter Scott, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that after the shooting of Walter Scott—an African-American—in North Charleston, South Carolina, the state government proposed a bill named after him to equip more police officers with body cameras? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Shooting of Walter Scott. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |
Do try and pass this thank you on. Thanks. Victuallers (talk) 00:11, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

Help with Rep. Tom Graves?
Hello Cwobeel, I saw you were included on the list of participants at WikiProject Politics, and that you have worked on GOP-related and conservative topics. With that in mind, I'd like to see if you can help with an article I've working on. I've made some suggestions on Rep. Tom Graves' Talk page about how his stance on abortion rights is handled, and would be grateful for someone else to review and, if it looks reasonable, to implement them.
I'm looking to suggest changes there rather than making the edits myself as I have a conflict of interest. As I've disclosed on the Talk page for the article, I'm currently working as a paid consultant to Rep. Graves. Would you be able to take a look at my proposed edits and let me know what you think? Cheers, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 19:11, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
- @WWB Too: I'll take a look. - Cwobeel (talk) 19:46, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

I could use your help
Hi Cwobeel. Would you mind adding Shooting of Samuel DuBose to your watchlist. I'm fending off original research, bad style edits and unsourced content. Thanks for your help.- MrX 16:19, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
@MrX:. I checked yesterday and could not find an article on this. I'll add to my watchlist. - Cwobeel (talk) 20:09, 30 July 2015 (UTC)

DuBose image
In Walter Scott, you took a screenshot from Santana's video and put it in the infobox. Is something like that feasible in DuBose? ―Mandruss ☎ 01:50, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
At 2:24 in the Tensing video is a shot with DuBose facing the camera. Not a great shot, but better than nothing imo. He was dead one minute later. ―Mandruss ☎ 02:01, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
- I appreciate what you are both trying to do but please consider the family before posting a screen cap of the victim just before he was shot. I would much rather see us use a new source photo under fair use/WP:NFC.- MrX 02:44, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
- @MrX: Please see the infobox in Shooting of Walter Scott, clearly depicting Scott being shot to death. Then see the Tensing video, clearly showing DuBose's bloody, dead body. ―Mandruss ☎ 03:26, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
