Interface administrator changes
- An RfC on the administrator resysop criteria was closed. 18 proposals have been summarised with a variety of supported and opposed statements. The inactivity grace period within which a new request for adminship is not required has been reduced from three years to two. Additionally, Bureaucrats are permitted to use their discretion when returning administrator rights.
- Following a proposal, the edit filter mailing list has been opened up to users with the Edit Filter Helper right.
- Wikimedia projects can set a default block length for users via MediaWiki:ipb-default-expiry. A new page, MediaWiki:ipb-default-expiry-ip, allows the setting of a different default block length for IP editors. Neither is currently used. (T219126)

WikiProject Apps
Hello, I've noticed you are a member of Wikipedia:WikiProject Apps. I've recently added a table of reliable sources in Wikipedia:WikiProject Apps#Sources but most of the sources are iOS oriented. Do you want to help out and find reliable Android oriented reliable sources to complete the table?

Indexing on Google
Page ShareChat was approved but hasn't been indexed on Google yet. It only comes in the Knowledge Panel. How do I index it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Splaybeats007 (talk • contribs) 09:09, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Splaybeats007: It's indexed already but the Wikipedia link isn't appearing at the top on Google, It depends on Google's indexing algorithm so we can't really do anything about it. If you'll search 'ShareChat wikipedia' then it would be at the top. You can read article on Google's PageRank for further information. Kind Regards! -- CptViraj (📧) 11:50, 24 December 2019 (UTC)
Request on 17:48:23, 23 December 2019 for assistance on AfC submission by Eamonnor
Hi, I'm not sure what extra references I can add. The reason I submitted the entry is because this woman is neglected despite representing her country 57 times. There are few references because all she did was win bridge competitions for 50 years. She is in the top 0.001% of competitors for a country in terms of longevity and achievement. Is it that the references should be embedded? I could find numerous listings in newspapers citing her wins but these would be behind paywalls and are just columns of names and her position in the results table. Thanks.

Eamonnor (talk) 17:48, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Eamonnor: 3 references that you've added aren't really reliable. Please see WP:RS and WP:ANYBIO. Kind Regards! -- CptViraj (📧) 11:56, 24 December 2019 (UTC)

Stale AfCs
Hi CptViraj, I noticed you are tagging stale drafts listed at Wikipedia:Database reports/Stale drafts. I am not sure if you are aware, but you are tagging drafts that are already tagged for deletion. If you note the column that says "tagged", it outlines drafts that are already tagged and do not require further action. You will notice that these pages, after six months, automatically say "This draft has not been edited in over six months and qualifies to be deleted per CSD G13" and fall in Category:G13 eligible AfC submissions. By tagging these pages, you are essentially double tagging them. Thanks Cpt! ~riley (talk) 09:22, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
- @~riley: There is a glitch in G13 eligible cat. I'm not sure if it's for all or it's just me, Pages aren't being displayed in the Category:G13 eligible AfC submissions. When I tag drafts with {{Db-g13}} it is displayed in Category:Candidates for speedy deletion as abandoned drafts or AfC submissions so sysops can delete them quickly. Thanks for the message. -- CptViraj (📧) 09:33, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
- Have you brought it to anyone's attention that this needs to addressed? There is no imminent need for these pages to be created "quickly", and Wikipedia:Database reports/Stale drafts is patrolled on a daily basis by administrators. ~riley (talk) 09:37, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
- I'm sure this had been reported for another category, and it's still unfixed. -- CptViraj (📧) 09:43, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
- Which category would that be? ~riley (talk) 09:48, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
- The simple solution to this is a bot null editing the pages listed on Wikipedia:Database reports/Stale drafts, I just ran a test using my bot and after null editing, it appeared in the category. I can easily set this up to be an automated process that runs every 24 hours. Moving forward, can you hold off on double tagging these? ~riley (talk) 10:20, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
- @~riley: I'm tagging g13 drafts for 5-6 months but I never got any message releted to double tagging so, being honest I'm still unsure if it's really double tagging. CAT:G13 is a maintenance category which is used for tracking g13 eligible draft while Category:Candidates for speedy deletion as abandoned drafts or AfC submissions is a category to track g13 nominated drafts. What I'm saying is CAT:G13 just shows us that these drafts are eligible for deletion as per WP:G13 but aren't nominated for deletion, {{Db-g13}} is used to nominate drafts which categories pages in Category:Candidates for speedy deletion as abandoned drafts or AfC submissions. -- CptViraj (📧) 12:47, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
- My understanding of it seems to be very different. While it does say it is a tracking category, I don't get why it is then listed as "tagged" on the stale drafts page or why it's categorized under Category:Speedy deletion just like Category:Candidates for speedy deletion as abandoned drafts or AfC submissions. There really should only be one category as they are serving the same purpose (if that, considering it hasn't been populating the G13 eligible one). The good news is that out of this discussion, we have gotten Category:G13 eligible AfC submissions populating? :) Merry Christmas! ~riley (talk) 08:47, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
- @~riley: Awesome, Thankyou. Merry Christmas! -- CptViraj (📧) 08:55, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
- @~riley: Looking at the source code for the bot task, "tagged" means either having an AfC template or being in Category:Draft articles, not being tagged for deletion DannyS712 (talk) 01:32, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you for clarifying. My bad, I was wrong on this one. Please accept my apologies, Cpt. ~riley (talk) 08:49, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
