Bot teething troubles?
This Bot looks like a good idea, but just picked up La Passione di Gesù Cristo for similarities (???) with http://infinitybody.com/kolya/La-passione.html . Could just be a one-off I guess, but noting here in case needs tweaking. In ictu oculi (talk) 14:34, 1 January 2011 (UTC)
Camp Half-Blood response
It does only that I had merged the pages so that it can contain the info on characters who also appear from The Heroes of Olympus series. That and Percy Jackson & the Olympians are related afterall. Rtkat3 (talk) 11:12, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
Question
Is the back of a book copyrighted? --Bluedude588 (talk) 00:25, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Yes, the back of the book is copyrighted. VernoWhitney (talk) 03:30, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
Bot tagging the word "Chillon"
I've encountered two instances where the bot seems to doing something odd in examining translated articles. At Viaduc de Chillon I translated the frwiki article fr:Viaduc de Chillon and incorporated a reference to this site. The bot seemed to think [1] there was copying from here [2], whose only reference to the Viaduc de Chillon is a reference link. Something similar happened when I created Fort de Chillon [3], where it seemed to think that there was copying from here [4]. I did use a lot of the same words, but there's nothing resembling a copy, and that particular page wasn't something I was using as a source. Perhaps the word 'Chillon' is doing something funky? It's the first time in more than 1000 new articles that I've encountered this, and it's weird that it's happening on that particular word. Acroterion (talk) 20:19, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- Well, rarer words tend to be more "important" when matching via a search engine, so that might be what happened, but the bot currently has a problem with very small pages that probably contributed. I've set some time aside for development for later this month in an effort to tune the algorithm, so we'll see what comes of that. — Coren (talk) 00:34, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
- I sort of thought that might be the case, that uncommon words would have a disproportionate effect. Since it happened twice with the same general topic, thought it was worth mentioning, since I don't see many false positives with your bot. I'll have to find something else with "Chillon" in it to write about and see what happens. Acroterion (talk) 02:15, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
CorenSearchBot editing while logged out
Hi, it seems CorenSearchBot is editing while logged out. Could you fix this and make sure it doesn't happen again? Thanks. Svick (talk) 22:29, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
- So it is. Fix't. — Coren (talk) 04:10, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

CorenSearchBot detect of copyvio
Dear Coren: Since I move the article KDU College to KDU University College, this content is found to being copied from the article http://www.juggle.com/kdu-college as detected from CorenSearchBot. However, I am not the writer of the contents and I check the Revision history of KDU College and believed to be found that copy and paste content started from 12 June 2006 (copied from http://www.juggle.com/kdu-college. So I had just clear the copyrighted content since I moved. Please help solve this problem. Thanks.WPSamson (talk) 00:55, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
Cymatic Theology
Dear Coren It seems that my article on the subject Cymatic Theology has been flagged and deleted, as it assumes it is copied. It is a reworked article that I wrote in, I believe, about 2009. It was deleted at the time, as it lacked references. It has now been reworked, with the appropriate references
Thank you,

You identified Benches The Musical as a possible copyright problem. It is, as it is a copy of benchesthemusical.com
However, the notice says:
This article may meet Wikipedia’s criteria for speedy deletion as a copyright infringement of http://www.snug-harbor.org/community.html
Just thought you'd want to know.--SPhilbrickT 17:31, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- The latter has been added by a human editor. Sometimes, the bot picks up on a copy (which raises the issue), but the human who check notices where the original is (which is more informative). — Coren (talk) 19:19, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the information. (I didn't see the text at the other location, but I may not have looked hard enough.) That also explains something I noticed recently, where the notice had a very descriptive identification of the problematic text, and it struck me as unlikely that a bot could be so precise. Now I know what happened.--SPhilbrickT 17:49, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Bot error
Frank Godfrey, the First World War flying ace, shares only a coincidental name with Frank Godfrey, the present day realtor.
Georgejdorner (talk) 03:11, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
Another error
There was an error flagged up on the page Samuel Shenton I just created. The reference is to a genealogy page of entirely different individual with the same name. The only commonality on the page appears to be the name. Is there something wrong with your script? Chris55 (talk) 15:02, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
An error in Afghanistan – Denmark relations
There is an error in the Afghanistan – Denmark relations page. The CorenSearchBot flagged it. Should i remove it or not? Ahmetyal 16:48, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

The bot didn't recognize that ALL that material was commented out. I only included it to help later contributors (that would not be me) to advance the article past the stub stage. So, thanks to your bot's 'help', I have now deleted the whole thing and any later contributors will just have to start from scratch. If you fix your bot to ignore commented-out material, let me know. Flatterworld (talk) 17:31, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
- Cannot do: even commented out, it's a violation of copyright; and having it in the page source makes it more dangerous since it poses the clear risk that article contents becomes a derivative work and we then need to delete the whole thing. — Coren (talk) 13:12, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
