Ruining your life
[edit]Re. this change... again, don't worry about the referencing too much. Just make sure that the info is there, somehow, and I or someone else will come in and make sure it's formatted properly. You don't need to spend too much time in ensuring it looks pretty! --jbmurray (talk|contribs) 20:41, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- I wanted to say the same thing that jbmurray did. If you have any specific questions or are just frazzled all over, feel free to leave a note on the article talk page describing the problem and someone will try to sort it out for you! Karanacs (talk) 20:54, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Sarmiento
[edit]Just a note to say that the article is coming along well. The biggest problem at the moment is the footnotes: the enotes.com one is still there, and according to jbmurray the historiador one isn't a good one either. I agree with everything you struck out, and I struck a couple more things out. If you can make some progress with the footnotes I think we're getting close.
You were a bit unlucky getting this article! The political material doesn't really make it easy, does it? Looks like jbmurray has that part in hand, though, so if you can fix those sources I think you're in good shape. I'll also take a pass at improving the prose once you've done the citation work. Let me know if I can help with anything -- Mike Christie (talk) 16:28, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hey Mike thanks so much, I really appreciate you helping us out. Yeah It's a bit of a tough one, and it doesn't help that I've got loads of other work to do. I'll continue trying to replace the footnotes, but I don't know that I'll be able to do it by tomorrow. aliyah (talk) 19:07, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
Update on Sarmiento GA
[edit]I've just gone through and found that almost all the points that came up in the copyedit are now dealt with. I've put a list of remaining problems here. There's only one thing that absolutely has to be sorted out that I don't have an answer for yet, and that's the date of Facundo; the article gives it as both 1845 and 1848.
I will get on a copyedit now, and with luck you or jbmurray can fix the enotes cite (I've found an alternative that should work). The other problems are all less critical and can either be fixed or, if necessary, swept under the rug. I'll post again here when I've done the copyedit. Mike Christie (talk) 23:27, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- Copyedit is complete; I found two "citation needed" tags so those sentences either should be deleted or cited. Jbmurray took care of the Facundo date problem. Just four issues left now -- I look forward to seeing this at GA very soon. Mike Christie (talk) 00:07, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Everything is now fixed except that enotes cite; it's the very first footnote. It's listed as "Zott, Lynn M", but the underlying website it takes you to is enotes.com. That's why you couldn't find it. Anyway, I left you a note at the article; I think it's only used for date and place of birth, so the JSTOR link may work, but if not, I'd just delete the reference -- date and place of birth are not controversial items. Once you've done that, this is a GA. Mike Christie (talk) 20:19, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- I've cleaned up that last reference so hopefully we're good to go! Thanks so much again for helping us through this. The Wiki world is a whole new experience for me! :) aliyah (talk) 21:36, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
