[edit] Thanks for contributing to the article Catherine Ndereba. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable and attributed to reliable sources. You have recently used citations which copied, or mirrored, material from Wikipedia. This leads to a circular reference and is not acceptable. Most mirrors are clearly labeled as such, but some are in violation of our license and do not provide the correct attribution. Please help by adding alternate sources to the article you edited! If you need any help or clarification, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. Thank you. Kuru (talk) 14:47, 24 May 2020 (UTC)

Citing Tourism Websites
[edit]Hey, I noticed in a few situations you have been citing Tourism websites for topics like your citations about the this article about the Sebei people. Though this might be an adequate short term fix, most tourism websites don't have a high standard for research: so will probably get removed in the long term -- I recommend trying to find more reliable pieces, like research produced by academics. [edit]Adding non-notable names
[edit]Hello. Your recent edit appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Jackie Nyaminde (Wilbroda or Awilo)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Jackie Nyaminde (Wilbroda or Awilo), requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. [edit]Speedy deletion nomination of Template:International Schools in Kenya
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that the page you created, Template:International Schools in Kenya, was tagged as a test page under section G2 of the criteria for speedy deletion and has been or soon may be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
– Jonesey95 (talk) 01:35, 14 December 2021 (UTC)
The article Jackie Nyaminde (Wilbroda or Awilo) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Not enough in-depth coverage from independent, reliable sources to show they pass WP:GNG, and does not meet WP:NACTOR.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Onel5969 TT me 13:14, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
DYK for Anita Kiki Gbeho
[edit]On 19 February 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Anita Kiki Gbeho, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Anita Kiki Gbeho (pictured) is still working for the United Nations in Somalia, even though her boss was lucky to escape assassination? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Anita Kiki Gbeho. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Anita Kiki Gbeho), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Disambiguation link notification for May 20
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Charity Waciuma, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages English and African. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:03, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
Paid editing disclosure
[edit]Hi Cmwaura, and thanks for your contributions. I understand that as a WiR for the CfACP, you are receiving a stipend. Please read Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure and comply as soon as possible. The policy requires that you state which organization is paying you, e.g. Code for Africa. You do not have to mention all the partners involved in the project, just the one organization that actually pays you. Best, Clayoquot (talk | contribs) 19:59, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Clayoquot I am a payed WiR with Code for Africa working on climate change project with a community of volunteers. Cmwaura (talk) 08:27, 22 October 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'm looking forward to collaborating with you. Best, Clayoquot (talk | contribs) 11:48, 22 October 2022 (UTC)
External links in body
[edit]Hello! I saw you just added an external link in the body of climate change in Kenya. Per WP:External links, external links should not be placed in the body of an article. If the website supports a claim, please add it as a citation with <ref> tags. If instead it gives more background than Wikipedia, you can consider adding it to an External links section at the bottom of an article.
Over the last week I've been monitoring + mentoring CfACP participants (and unfortunately reverting many). This is one of the more common mistakes you should keep an eye on. Given the lower quality of edits, the participants need quite a lot of mentoring. While I can't continue doing that, I'm happy to support you supporting them. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 17:47, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Femke Hello, I understand. I was not meant to publish that specific. was showing them an example. I will definitely delete that. I would appreciate your support. I had a meeting with the participants an hour ago and citations and references was the major issue they have. would you be available for a zoom meeting to take them through? I will appreciate your support. Cmwaura (talk) 18:48, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I don't really have time for that. @Clayoquot: would you be willing to share your slides with Cmwaura? —Femke 🐦 (talk) 19:50, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
- I would be happy to help over Zoom. Cmwaura, I'll email you. Take care, Clayoquot (talk | contribs) 21:44, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Clayoquot@Femke Thank you for finding time to help. i hope to learn as much as i can from both of you. Cmwaura (talk) 09:53, 27 October 2022 (UTC)
Two more things
[edit]- Could you ask the CfACP contributors to respect WP:ENGVAR. I see a lot of them changing the variety of English in an article from British to American. Generally, this should not happen. Articles without a clear link to a particular country should stay in the same variant of English.
- Is there a minimum amount of citations or edits people must make to qualify for the data bundle, or a prize? That may explain absurd additions like adding a dermatology paper into Temperature. If so, this needs to change, as we've seen in the past that these kind of incentives lead to disruption. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 17:10, 27 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Femke this is noted. We shall have a zoom training next week with the help of @Clayoquot . Are you in a postition to let me know all the issues arising then we can get guidance on that? I appreciate Cmwaura (talk) 17:40, 27 October 2022 (UTC)
- Problems not yet mentioned here or at WP:AN.
- Introducing typos
- Adding WP:duplicate links (I believe if you use the WP:Growth team#Newcomer tasks, it will only suggest links that aren't already in the article).
- When adding a source, adding a main page of a website that does not support the information. Instead, the appropriate subpage should be cited.
- —Femke 🐦 (talk) 18:49, 27 October 2022 (UTC)
- Please answer my question about if there are any requirements people must meet to qualify for a data package. Do they need to add a fixed number of citations, no matter how irrelevant? Pinging @Jwale2.
- We're getting close to the point where I'll be asking uninvolved admins to consider blocking participants for lack of competence and copyright violations. I hope that can be avoided for most participants. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 17:18, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
- Cmwaura, in yesterday's Zoom session you asked me if I could clarify Femke's earlier question,
Is there a minimum amount of citations or edits people must make to qualify for the data bundle, or a prize?
. I apologize for not being able to answer this before I had to go to another meeting. I think Femke is asking this question because she is wondering why CfACP participants have been adding references to totally irrelevant sources, and making other edits that don't seem to serve any purpose. She is asking you if participants will be rewarded for making lots of edits. Clayoquot (talk | contribs) 18:29, 3 November 2022 (UTC)- Hi @Femkeand @Clayoquot, participant are not rewarded based on the number of edits made but rather rewarded based on their engagements in the project and the use of their personal data, so basically we are just given them back what they used during editing. Jwale2 (talk) 13:19, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
- And how is engagement measured? Do people who persistently add copyright violations get reimbursed? And people who persistently add nonsensical citations?
- I'm still baffled by the low quality of the edits. Are you getting the wrong audience? Are you getting an audience that needs strong training, but isn't getting it? Why are you not cleaning up after your participants yourself?
- I will be opening another section at the administrative noticeboard when I have some time to spare. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 07:28, 5 November 2022 (UTC)

Notice of noticeboard discussion
[edit]There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 09:55, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in climate change. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}}
on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Samani za kijani. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Green furniture. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Green furniture. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. 2A01:4C8:49:B2A2:D8D9:97FF:FE57:E2CC (talk) 07:16, 12 March 2023 (UTC)
