Edit summaries are important
[edit]When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. --TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 02:25, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
The official website linked there displays the name in lower case. So do we make it lowercase or upper case? Stevage 14:36, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
Hello. You added a cleanup template to this article less than a minute after it was created. Please note that the creator of said article is an established editor with no ill history, but, more importantly the edit summary clearly states that the article is from a public domain source. For copyright reasons, at least one revision should keep the text from said source intact. You'll note that a few minutes afterward, the original editor had cleaned up it, which they had been doing in the time when you tagged it — in the future, please be more careful about blindly tagging articles. Thank you.--SB | T 03:42, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion: Jaclyn DeSantis
[edit]Although I do understand your point as to why you disagree with my speedy deletion tagging, I must point out that although she is an actress, is does not assert her importance. It simply states that she is an actress on an NBC show. I will, however, compromise in an effort to promote WikiLove, tag it with {{expand}}.
UPDATE: Per my NfD, the article appears to already have been deleted. Bellito 20:54, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit]SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.

[edit]Thanks Clamster5 for your message. I appreciate that Wikipedia has a lot of articles, but I believe the articles I'm creating are huge gaps of knowledge that need filling in. Don't worry, I'm forever tidying up articles and expanding other people's stubs too! Cheers DRyan 01:06, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
Hi there, please don't remove CSD tags from articles you've created yourself, if you wish to contest the nomination please put a [{hangon}} template on the article so it can be appropriately discussed.
Elomis 08:20, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
I didn't create this article. A quick check of the history would have shown that. Clamster5 12:20, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
You are the first person to edit it while logged in, regardless, please place a hangon template rather than spuriously removing the CSD tag. Elomis 19:19, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Clean-up pages
[edit]I saw your message on my talk page and I wanted to say I would be glad to help and I'm already doing that. I'm cleaning up most of the singles in the archive (with or without clean-up tag) and I'm working on the girls Aloud singles right now, actually being busy with "Long Hot Summer". I'll start soon on the pages that interest me with clean-up tags, but first I've got to finished unfinished business. Thanks anyway :) -- Luigi-ish 13:09, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
Clean up
[edit]Hello there. Just a little suggestion: when posting your clean up message, try to substitute it (instead of {{User:Clamster5/cleanup}} use {{subst:User:Clamster5/cleanup}}), as message templates that do not categorize should be substituted. Good luck! -- ReyBrujo 13:09, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
You're welcome
[edit]...for the support on Chapter 14, and I'm only sorry it still wasn't quite enough in the end. I respect you calling a halt by merging the page on your own, since that's the way it was clearly going... still, I've never understood why some people get so anxious to delete perfectly harmless pages, as though an article on a 13-page pseudo-"book" in keeping with the obvious spirit of the series means that there's one less page available for everything else. Very frustrating. Thanks for giving it a try, though. --Arvedui 12:16, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Popularnovel.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Popularnovel.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 16:07, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Problems with User:Clamster5/Invite
[edit]The inclusion of this subpage on talk pages is causing the section edit links to not line up. Clicking on any section edit link following the inclusion of this template always opens the next section following, not the section with the edit link. This is due to your use of the <h4>

AID nom
[edit]I'm sorry. I was going through the Wikipedia:Article Creation and Improvement Drive/Removed pages to see which articles had not had their AIDnom tags removed. Hello, Clamster5. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Ajh.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Clamster5/WideWindowLoc. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 02:50, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

A page has been created for your nomination at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Clamster5. If you accept the nomination, you must formally state and sign your acceptance and answer the questions on that page. Once you have answered the questions, you may post your nomination for discussion, or request that your nominator do so.

How can I translate a page from English to Macedonian?
Im not sure
[edit]Quite why you deleted my page and then left a comment complaining about how my page had no significance or point of creation? Surely it was to educate and give a resource for people to read about a band? As im sure many other bands have pages about them!
Deletion Request

DVD citing
[edit]I have seen other pages use information from the DVD commentary but did not see it cited. How do you cite information from a DVD so that I can post information that was deleted? Thanks, Missjessica254 16:07, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
Count Olaf
[edit]An anon user has added a lot to the article, including his own POV and speculation to the character. He's also pretty much wrote down all the plots from the series, even which Olaf isn't responsible for. I've changed some of it but since I haven't read the series since the last book came out I'm hesitant to revert much else. Could you help out if you can? Thanks.--CyberGhostface 17:20, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
Your Welcome template is causing problems!
[edit]Hi Clamster5, I found that your Welcome template is causing a problem on other users' talk pages. Instead of adding {{User:Clamster5/Welcome}}, please would you add {{subst:User:Clamster5/Welcome}} in future? "subst:" inserts a copy of the current version of the template, rather than just a link to it. The problem at the moment is that on the 200+ pages where you have used the template, the heading on the welcome message does not count for some purposes, so that the [edit] buttons below it all call up the wrong section. I'd encourage you to go through all the pages at Special:Whatlinkshere/User:Clamster5/Welcome and change them as suggested above. If you use WP:AWB that will make it pretty easy. Hope this helps, Fayenatic london (talk) 21:43, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- A quick fix would be to take out the <h3> tags from the Welcome template and simply use "==". The image can stay in, but the colour and shape go (the shape doesn't appear in MSIE6 anyway, I only noticed it at home in Camino). Please see User:Fayenatic london/Sandbox for the revised welcome template and User:Fayenatic london/ToDo for an example of how it looks when used on a page. - Fayenatic london (talk) 18:00, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:AuntJosephineASUE.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:AuntJosephineASUE.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:33, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the warning... although... did I create it or something? I can't even remember that phrase or article. Now I am strangely interested. Anyway, it seems to have been deleted already by User:Android79, but I don't think I would have contested it anyway. What do you recall it being about I wonder? Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits, such as those you made to Crocs, are considered vandalism and are immediately reverted. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you. Towns in A Series of Unfortunate Events
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Towns in A Series of Unfortunate Events, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Towns in A Series of Unfortunate Events. Notable Physician/Educator ID=
[edit]The aricle on "B. Rusty Lang" you nominated for deletion is the same as "Dr. Bruce Rusty Lang, M.D.", and "Bruce Rusty Lang". I'm a novice Wikipedia contributor. Please assist in editing/consolidating the listings for the sake of disambiguation and neutrality. Thanks for your interest. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dr. B. R. - Hi. Something went wrong with the nomination of one of these articles. See this edit, then look at the table of contents at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Log/2007_December_14. I'm not sure what's going on -- maybe headings inside the AfD itself? I'd troubleshoot it myself but I'm out of time for now.--A. B. (talk) 18:24, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Hello, Thank you for your nomination. I am Dr. B. Rusty Lang, but my closest friends just call me "Rusty". FYI, I've added a partial CV at my User page. I'm a novice Wikipedia contributor, and I appreciate your interest, advise, and critique on any of my contributions. Thanks again! Dr. B. R. Lang (talk) 06:52, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Towns in A Series of Unfortunate Events
[edit]I have nominated Towns in A Series of Unfortunate Events, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Towns in A Series of Unfortunate Events. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 21:09, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Volunteers Fighting Disease, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
