Rollback granted

[edit]

Hi Catalyzzt. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! ~Swarm~ {sting} 23:59, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Rama Kishore Singh, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hijacking. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 05:55, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pending changes reviewer granted

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.

Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Reference removal at Stonehenge article

[edit]

Hi User:Catalyzzt, I wanted to let you know that I undid your removal of a reference on the Stonehenge page. While it's true that one of the tags (the url tag) in the reference was malformatted, the rest of the reference was fine. In the future, I'd encourage you to either fix the reference yourself or to flag the reference by making a note on the talk page or tagging it in some way (e.g. using Template:Verify_source). In this case, removing that reference was particularly damaging because it was a named ref and was used in three other places in the article. Thanks! Suriname0 (talk) 16:52, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I looked at several of your recent changes following this template, and all seemed to me to be unwarranted reference removals. In all but one case, other cite tags were specified correctly; only the URL was incorrect, and thus should have been removed (or better yet, corrected, as I was able to do easily in all cases). Even in the case of Poland, which featured a ref without a corresponding cite template, replacing it with a citation needed template may have been more appropriate. I appreciate you trying to correct these, although doing so without removing otherwise good references would be much appreciated. Thanks, Suriname0 (talk) 19:12, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
User:Suriname0: I totally understand. I was a little bit misguided based on this requested edit filter that attempted to catch edits including file:// links, although I now realize that simply catching these edits is different than deleting them once they have been cited. I wasn't entirely clear on the protocol for broken source links, and I just sort of assumed that they were utterly useless if they were broken. Again, apologies.
No worries, and again thank you for trying to improve citation formatting on Wikipedia! Suriname0 (talk) 14:20, 14 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

CitroÃĢn

[edit]

Is it Citroën or CitroÃĢn? Is it a bug with RedWarn? I have seen this gibberish while you were warning 89.197.169.121. 78.177.109.210 (talk) 19:30, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@78.177.109.210 RedWarn seems not to be able to parse certain strings of special characters in links. It could also be an issue with MediaWiki. I'll have a look when I get home and report the issue to the 10nm team. Catalyzzt (talk) 19:39, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Mock Trial Edits Reverted

[edit]

Hello, I made two edits to the mock trial page (high school section) which you reverted. I made these edits in good faith, so I apologize if I did not provide descriptive enough context for the edits (I am a novice Wikipedia user). The first edit was to update the list of notable winners of the High School National Championship. The existing paragraph described teams that had won the championship two times in consecutive years. I added a sentence to describe a team which had also won the championship two times, but in years that were far apart. This accomplishment is unique and less common than consecutive victories (and some could argue an even more notable accomplishment). The evidentiary support for the sentence can be found on the National High School Mock Trial Championship page itself, which is the same support used for the other notable winners.

The second edit was not removing any content (as claimed), but instead reorganizing a rather long and jumbled paragraph for clarity. An existing sentence discussed that different states hosted the competition, then there were sentences about notable winners, and then the paragraph returned to the topic of which states hosted the competition. My edit was intended to connect the sentence introducing the concept of rotating hosts with the sentences discussing the details of those rotating hosts. I put this existing content into a new paragraph for ease of reading.

Again, I apologize if I am not following the correct editing etiquette. I just saw that the paragraph was incomplete and disorganized and I thought I would help tidy it up. Respectfully, 24.56.250.13 (talk) 00:40, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think I reverted your edits by mistake, sorry! My guess is that your second edit was caught in an ORES filter and flagged as spam. I incorrectly identified the diff as spam, and reverted the edits. I was using a tool called Huggle that speeds up my editing workflow. Reverting an edit using this tool automatically reverts any previous edits by the same user.
If you'd like to restore the edits you made, I'd recommend "merging" the edits to avoid overwriting people who have edited since.
Sincerely sorry for the inconvenience! Catalyzzt (talk) 03:45, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Astro boy theme is Together in electric dreams melody

I didnt need a citation as the theme from Astro boy demonstrates the melody by simply listening with your ears. I only need mention it is a enough to warrant the claim. Listen to it, and you will hear. 203.221.12.118 (talk) 12:44, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There NO trams in Amsterdam Zuidoost.

[edit]

Dear Catalyst you were wrong to assume I was wrong. Even the GVB the official public transport company of Amsterdam admitted their mistake. Now if you don't want to have my comment on wikipedia I am cool with that. What counts is that the GVB altered the text on their official website. There are no trams in Amsterdam Noord (north) AND (like I indicated) Amsterdam Zuidoost (southeast). i contacted them about the mistake and they altered it. https://over.gvb.nl/ov-in-amsterdam/voer-en-vaartuigen/tram-in-cijfers/ 154.71.129.91 (talk) 20:17, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Catalyzzt, I've noticed a lot of uncited material in the article, which I've marked with [citation needed] tags. I've also failed verification on one source in "Death"; the source doesn't give the date or month of death, just the year. I've finished working there now; I hope it's useful. Good luck with the article and cheers, Baffle☿gab 02:39, 24 November 2023 (UTC).[reply]

The WaPo source actually does say "golf range finder"... perhaps you did not account for the space between "range" and "finder". Also, "laser" did not appear in any of the sources, and would tend to make the dude's hardware out to appear more tactical than is indicated. Marcus Markup (talk) 23:55, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Catalyzzt, I've now finished my copy-edit. I did a lot of cleanup and consolidation; in the main plot section I've removed the subsections, and unnecessary and minor details.
