Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, BuryWhite. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Nik & Eva Speakman, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Edwardx (talk) 17:41, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
A correction is required to the Career section
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
- Specific text to be removed: The Speakmans presented a DeLorean car to the former Liberal Member of Parliament for Rochdale, Sir Cyril Smith at his 80th birthday party in 2008.[13]
- Reason for the change: This is an inaccurate statement and refers to an archived version of an inaccurate newspaper article, the live version of which has been corrected by the authorsBuryWhite (talk) 18:13, 12 October 2021 (UTC) (see below)
- References supporting change: The corrected article is here https://www.rochdaleonline.co.uk/news-features/2/news-headlines/9569/sir-cyril-smith-80th-birthday-party it is now accurate, no reference is made to the Speakmans and the presentation of a car, hence the request to remove the offending statement.
Hi, I have closed this edit request because I am unsure which article you would like edited. Please open a new ticket on the talk page you want edited. Thanks. Z1720 (talk) 15:18, 13 October 2021 (UTC)
