Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Bkeene12. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Draft:Lily Keene, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Longhair\talk 18:40, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Longhair- Thank you for your feedback. It is greatly appreciated, this is my first foray into Wikipedia. As you suggested, I added the "connected contributor" tag to the edit summary. Let me know if this will suffice or if there are other steps to take. I attempted to keep the information in the article unbiased and referenced it all to a source at IMDB.COM

It was advised by others in the entertainment industry to build a very bare bones article with absolutely no commentary and never edited it again.

My hope is, the article can get approved and others will contribute organically as my daughter's acting career progresses. She booked an important role in a well established HBO show/movie called Deadwood. We are fighting a losing battle with media's request for information. That said, it is my intention that Wikipedia serves as a repository for information about her once the filming is complete.

== Hello Gene93k- Thank you for your feedback. I have the "chicken and the egg problem". When the Deadwood movie premieres in the spring of 2019, she will receive a cavalcade of press because she replaced an established character from the original TV Series. Right now, we have some media outlets fishing for information but no way to validate the details. I was hoping the article would be in place so the references to the verifiable details would be logged in wikipedia. Do you know the minimum standards to establish an actor article on Wikipedia? The information I found was very open-ended with no specific numbers. Again, thank you for the review. Bkeene12 (talk) 01:30, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Wikipedia is based on what the reputable press has already published. Notability for inclusion in Wikipedia can't be speculated. The first route to notability is non-trivial coverage by multiple reliable published sources. She's not there yet. The second possible route from the guideline: Has had significant roles in multiple notable films, television shows, stage performances, or other productions. Reliable sources should verify it. Finally, a biography of a living person sourced only to IMDb would be taken down if it were ever published. My advice is to wait for Lily Keene's career to advance and for media coverage to come in. At that time, please let someone else write the Wikipedia article about her. • Gene93k (talk) 03:22, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

== Gene93k- I get the gist of what you are saying and it makes sense; basically, "Be patient". There are a few articles in the works and one layout/interview in a clothing online magazine. After those are published should I seek someone out via the Teahouse? Bkeene12 (talk) 03:16, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
