Wikipedia beginners wanted for user testing
[edit]Wikimedia Deutschland is looking for beginner editors for user testing! We are working on some changes that may affect the editing experience, and we want to make sure that our changes don't make things more difficult for beginners. If you made less than 100 edits, we would love to hear from you! More information and a signup: https://greatquestion.co/wikimediadeutschland/4oADuQpx/apply. --Johannes Richter (WMDE) (talk) 10:18, 19 September 2024 (UTC) PS: This is a one-time message to selected beginner editors. You won't get any further notifications if you're not interested.

Today brought a timely promotion of Helmut Bauer (bishop) to the Main page on the day when pieces from Mozart's Requiem were performed for him. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:28, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
I made Leif Segerstam my big story today. -Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:50, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Gerda Arendt Thank you for the notice. They seemed like quite the individual! I wonder where they got the time to compose so many works, but then again, working for over half a century in the field might have that effect on someone! BigChrisKenney (talk) 09:30, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
Thank you for participating in the October 2024 GAN backlog drive
[edit]The Reviewer Barnstar | ||
Your noteworthy contribution (14 points total) helped reduce the backlog by more than 250 articles! Here's a token of our appreciation. Vacant0 (talk • contribs) 19:19, 3 November 2024 (UTC) |

Tokugatou gozaimasu
[edit]Thanks for your help with Ieyasu's page. I can't believe how many silly errors I missed last time I went over that page. Moritoriko (talk) 02:15, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
- There is a lot of text there! You could see it took me a couple of days to get through it all. I am sure I missed some things too. Just glad to help make the article the best version it can be! BigChrisKenney (talk) 08:05, 20 November 2024 (UTC)

The WikiCup
[edit]Hi @BigChrisKenney, thanks for your interest in the WikiCup. Just so you know, you do not need to manually update your scores, as a bot automatically updates them six times a day. In fact, we recommend that you don't do this because it may interfere with the bot. – Epicgenius (talk) 01:17, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- Ok, thank you! This is the first time I am participating, so I was not so sure how to go about the scores. I'll just add them to the submissions page for the bot to update. BigChrisKenney (talk) 05:16, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
Promoting a GA
[edit]Hey, thanks for all your efforts reviewing good article nominations; keep it up! Just a reminder to list the article at the Good Articles page once you're done, too. I often use this script which stops me from missing a step! Adabow (talk) 07:12, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for bringing this to my attention! I have not been doing that! I will take your suggestion and try out the script you mentioned, so I hope it won't happen again. BigChrisKenney (talk) 08:11, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- I just wanted to add that I just used it to pass an article and that script is so much faster than doing it all manually. Thanks again for letting me know of its existence! BigChrisKenney (talk) 08:22, 8 January 2025 (UTC)

- Happy new year 2025, opened with trumpet fanfares that first sounded OTD in 1725 (as the Main page had). Thank you for doing GA reviews! My story today is about a composer who influenced music history also by writing. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:09, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- Today I had a composer (trumpeter, conductor) on the main page who worked closely with another who just became GA, - small world! To celebrate: mostly flowers pics from vacation ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:39, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
