What exactly was innacurate (and what did you change) specifically. I might debate, but I need info. Since your user talk page is quite full, I would request that you try my own page, which is blank. Therefore, it would be quite quicker in response time.

Uruguay

[edit]

Hi friend, I just wanna thank you for your concern with my country. It is not common to see American people with your interests towards an almost unknown place for you fellow citizens. Once more, thanks for contributing to spread the available information on Uruguay. Finally, if you would like to see it, you can check out some of my articles in the Spanish wikipedia, just for you to have a more complete source to carry on with your great activity. Kind regards, --Gustave - May I help you? 19:05, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vaz Ferreira

[edit]

Hi! First of all, let me congratulate you once more for your great contributions on Uruguay to this project. You're doing a nice work, here! Anyway, reading your article I only found one minor mistake and that is when you say: "Sobre la propiedad de la tierra", and translate it as "On the Ownership of Earth". Well, the problem is that in Spanish when the word "Tierra" is in capital letters, it would mean "Earth", but when is not, the proper translation is "land". "Tierra" refers to the planet, and "tierra" to the land or a rural property. In this case, the second one is correct. The rest is ok; it seems you really dominate the main structures of Spanish language but avoid speaking in plural, because that is incorrect. I mean, when you say "leáis" or "vosotros" you are talking to me as if I were more than one person. That usage, however, was characteristic of mediaeval Spanish but now it is seemed as an archaism, except in Spain, where "vosotros" is the second person plural (in English, "You")- The second person singular - in English also "you" - is "tú" (or "vos", not vosotros, in Rioplatense Spanish). Well, that's all, keep going! I'm really amused, man. Greetings, --Gustave - May I help you? 12:45, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm glad to be of any help. I supposed you have learned Mexican Spanish because is the most common one in USA, since the vast Mexican population living in your country. Personally, I speak Rioplatense Spanish because I'm Uruguayan, and that is maybe the reason why most people mistake me for an Argentine, since we both share the same variety of language (with slight differences). However, since I'm currently living in northern Spain, I've been much influenced by the standard Spanish. Well, thank you again for your interest and I expect you to go on, if you like. Here are some suggestions: Horacio Quiroga, prolific writer and man of letters (a featured article on the Spanish wikipedia) - maybe you can expand it; Eduardo Galeano, another important writer, who has been awarded several times, and whose reputation is really high among Spanish and non-Spanish speaking countries (perhaps you'll have to choose information from another source, since the article in Spanish is also poor); and, I've worked on several articles related to Uruguayan history and geography (as you can check it out if you go to my user page in the Spanish wikipedia). The information available here is really poor; and there is nothing about Uruguayan cuisine. With respect to the latter, I've written a quite complete article on the subject. Well, that's all for now. Do the best you can, without hurry :-). Greetings, --Gustave - May I help you? 21:42, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it seems so. Well, thanks :-). --Gustave - May I help you? 22:03, 17 May 2007 (UTC) (maybe it would be a good idea to move the page to Uruguayan cuisine, since there are articles like Argentine cuisine o Italian cuisine that follow that rule).[reply]

Groussac

[edit]

Hi again, friend. Concerning your message, I just found one little omission. When you say: "Groussac taught me how to write in Spanish", you should have said instead: "Groussac, who was French, taught me how to write in Spanish". If you have a look at the orginal article you'll read exactly what I have written (but in Spanish, of course). That's all, the rest is perfect! Nice work, by the way. Greetings, Gustave - May I help you? 23:47, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Great job on that article. I wanted to ask you to publicite your new Argentina related articles at the Argentine notice board if you have the time to do it, so other people with interest in the topic can become aware of the new article and perhaps contribute to it. Thank you and good wiking. --Mariano(t/c) 11:47, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Bashir_Ahmad.jpg

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Bashir_Ahmad.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 11:41, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Abkarian.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Abkarian.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ytfin 23:30, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Adolfo_Suarez_2.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Adolfo_Suarez_2.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:55, 15 January 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 (talk) 17:55, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Lightereul kyeora.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Lightereul kyeora.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 23:49, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Tony Gibson, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
