Your removal of a valid reference from the Distillation article
[edit]BeastRHIT, you removed a reference concerning the McCabe-Thiele method from the Distillation article simply because you couldn't find it on the web? That is not a valid reason. The article can be found in any good university library. Adding another reference as you did is fine ... I have no problem with that. But I do have a problem with your removing one just because it isn't on the web. I am sure that there are a great many references in Wikipedia articles which can only be found in libraries. I am going to leave your reference in but I am going to revert your deletion of the reference about an algebraic solution of the McCabe-Thiele diagram. If you would like a copy of that reference, I will mail one you. Just visit my user page where my email is enabled and you can email me your mailing address. - mbeychok 19:18, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- I appologize for removing the reference without much consideration. Upon consideration of your comments, I will not do so in the future. I sent you an email with questions and comments. Please respond to it so I can work on distillation article again.
- Thanks. - BeastRHIT 21:56, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Referencing
[edit]Good edit on mass transfer coefficient. :) I would like to encourage you to reference your edits differently (see WP:CLINMED and WP:REF) and hope that I can look forward to seeing more of your edits. Nephron T|C 20:45, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- If you're using anything PubMed or anything with an ISBN there is a tool by User:Diberri. For the reference you used this link shows the result. If you combine that with the <ref> </ref> tags (known as the cite:ref system -- as described at WP:CLINMED) you're off to the races.
- Any case, I wouldn't get hung-up on how to reference. There is a good deal of latitude on how it is done; if you read WP:FOOT the first thing it says is: This format is not mandatory; editors are free to use a different method.
- As for what User:Mbeychok said above-- use references available online, if that is possible. If no good references are available online use a good/respected textbook. Nephron T|C 00:07, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks again for the information. I'll definately use the tool you suggested. I think the reason I get so hung up on referencing is that I want the articles to look good and flow well. A credit to Mbeychok's comments is that chemical engineering information is few and far between online. We have discussed it and came to an agreement on that issue. - BeastRHIT 01:11, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Brownco trial pdf.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Brownco trial pdf.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.
Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
You tagged this image as a federal government work and thus in the public domain. Unfortunately, it's not federal but a state government work. --Durin 16:43, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Cades Cove 01.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Cades Cove 01.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MBisanz talk 01:49, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
- I took the picture in question and was the owner of the copyright. If I add any more pictures I will use the free license email permission procedure listed above. I don't mind the picture being deleted as it had already been replaced on the article. I added pictures because there were none at the time. BeastRHIT (talk) 15:22, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The file File:Nature Center overlook (288x216).jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
