Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to Armenia, Azerbaijan, or related conflicts, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
Extended-confirmed required
[edit]It has come to my attention that you have recently started to edit in articles related to Armenia and Azerbaijan. This editing area is under a community imposed extended-confirmed restriction, specifically "Politics, ethnic relations, and conflicts involving Armenia, Azerbaijan, or both—broadly construed and explicitly including the Armenian genocide—are placed under an extended confirmed restriction." Your number of edits is below the threshold for editing in the area, thus you cannot currently edit in articles and content under the scope of WP:GS/AA. Please refrain from doing so, any edits you have done since this restriction was implemented should be reverted, I will take the liberty of reverting wherever it's appropriate. - Kevo327 (talk) 15:32, 3 October 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Please note that due to WP:RUSUKR, editors who are not extended confirmed are unable to make edits about Russia–Ukraine war (or pages with content about this), broadly construed. Thanks. Mellk (talk) 04:06, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
- Also, I reverted your edits where you added flags to the infoboxes. This does not follow the manual of style. See MOS:INFOBOXFLAG. Mellk (talk) 04:06, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
- Can you please explain why you are continuing to not follow this? Mellk (talk) 05:36, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
- You should also not be linking to Ukrainians in the lead. Firstly, this is overlinking and per MOS:NATIONALITY, we generally do not refer to the ethnicity in the opening. Mellk (talk) 14:44, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- Also, we have MOS:GEOLINK. Please do not add links to countries in the infobox regarding place of birth and place of death. Mellk (talk) 14:50, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- We also do not need to include the modern-day location, particularly districts and regions in the infobox as was done here. Generally we just use city, administrative region, country for place of birth and place of death. See the documentation for Template:Infobox person. Mellk (talk) 16:13, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- You are still not following what was explained above. Mellk (talk) 16:22, 20 October 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at Gallery of passport stamps by country or territory, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. –DMartin 05:16, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
