Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page SIES College of Management Studies has been reverted.
Your edit here to SIES College of Management Studies was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://thesiescomsblog.wordpress.com/) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 11:55, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article SIES College of Management Studies, please cite a reliable source for your addition. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. This especially relates to adding a ranking of 50 in Business Today against the source, but also to all the rest. Please also familiarize yourself with WP:EL. Muhandes (talk) 11:14, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to SIES College of Management Studies. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Again, please familiarize yourself with WP:EL as well. And please stop edit warring and start discussing matters. Hi Muhandes, I'm a student studying at SIES College of Management Studies. I am up to date with the current status of this college. Would you kindly tell me what changes require citations? I haven't added any major additions.

I'm a relatively new wiki user, but as far as the last edit is concerned, I'm sure the information is neutral and accurate. Let me know how i could cite. Thanks! Artofnik (talk) 17:31, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm happy that you finally choose to discuss. Regarding sourcing problems, this edit introduced a ranking which does not exist. This edit introduced an entire history section without a source, not to speak of reverting a previous edit I made without giving a reason, introducing "a 200-year new program on Biotechnology Business Management", introducing multiple external links against this guideline and violating another guideline. Seriously, if you want to contribute, I'd be happy to assist. But you will have to keep Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Add neutral facts, with proper inline citation from reliable sources, preferably secondary ones. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. --Muhandes (talk) 19:14, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello sir, Sorry that I had not replied earlier thinking you must be a bot and only upon checking your page did I realize that you are a wikignome. As I stated earlier, being new to wikipedia, I was surprised that even this page could be edited!

Problems we discussed: "introduced a ranking which does not exist." The addition was done as there was no rank mentioned for "business today" at institute ranking section. There exists a reference posted by some older user, but from the given reference, I could not make out whether the ranking holds true or not. As of this moment, the field remains still blank. I suggest removal of the line.

"Introduced an entire history section without a source" It was referenced from the official college website from this link. I went through the sourcing problem article and realized that the college website does not suffice as a reliable source as the website is owned and maintained by the college authorities. I will try researching on third party sites and published material on the college.

Thank you for the assistance. I am currently learning more about citations and shall edit the page after gaining enough knowledge for proper editing. PS: The external links were all official links. It had included a blog and a slideshare link, where we post up our monthly newsletter. On a later edit, I removed the blog and the slideshare link understanding it would be against the policies. Yet, all the remaining links were and are official. Artofnik (talk) 18:41, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the ranking, "—" is the standard chosen by WP:INEI to signify that an institute wasn't ranked. It is added automatically if no ranking is added, which is the case with SIESCOMS. Regarding the history section, a primary source can be used to source material which is less likely to be disputed. It is certainly better than no source at all. Regarding external links, see WP:EL, WP:ELNO an WP:ELOFFICIAL. The links you added do not cover the primary subject, and some of them are not controlled by the institute. In addition, I think some of them are linked from the main website. I find that the best solution is to use the links as sources in the article (verifying the kind of material that primary sources can verify) rather than link them as external links. Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 07:54, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Good work: Creating Navshakti

[edit]
  1. Good work creating creating article Navshakti.
  2. Please provide citations for the edits you have done to FPJ.[1]
  3. Reftag[2] is a useful tool for citing google books. All you need to do is to copy the url in the window provided, you get ready made reference tag.

This window's menu bar too has a button that looks like {{}}, which you can use for providing citations. Yogesh Khandke (talk) 04:18, 9 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A trivial request: Please edit your user page, a red link looks a little awkward, (my whim). Yogesh Khandke (talk) 04:23, 9 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey thanks, And a commendable job on adding additional details to Navshakti. Are you sure the complete address is irrelevant? Anyways, got rid of the "red" nagging link (on popular demand).

Regarding FPJ:

  1. The Infobox details such as the editor and the address have been added from the physical copy of the newspaper. I was able to read the details from one of their supplements online on the very bottom [3]. Unfortunately these details are not available anywhere else on the net.
  1. I am in the process of adding the columnist names and details, who write for the free press. Their names and articles prominently displayed on the website

Thanks a ton for sharing Reftag citation tool. Have a pleasant day.Artofnik (talk) 13:45, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please understand that a primary source isn't a good reference for anything, for example, we cannot see Seema's name in the columnist's list and write that "Seema is a columnist for FPJ", we should find a secondary source say Times of India which states that "Seema Mustafa is a columnist for the FPJ", I hope I am clear. Yogesh Khandke (talk) 17:30, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Very well, I shall try to find some secondary sources. Thank you for your help Yogesh. Artofnik (talk) 17:41, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
