User talk:Arthur MILCHIOR
Welcome!
Hello, Arthur MILCHIOR, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- Tutorial
- How to edit a page and How to develop articles
- How to create your first article (using the Article Wizard if you wish)
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{helpme}}
before the question. Again, welcome! RJFJR (talk) 00:27, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
- The above is a standard welcome message for new members. It is created by {{subst:welcome}} ~~~~ where the squiggly bracket mean it is a template, subst means to replace the template call with the expanded value when it is saved and the four tildes are replaced with my user name and a datestamp. I left the above welcome statement when I noticed you had edited a page in my watchlist and had red links for both your user and user talk pages (which usually indicates a new user.) I hope you enjoy contributing to Wikipedia, please let me know if you have any questions. RJFJR (talk) 16:01, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
- It looks like the article you edited that I have in my watchlist is L (complexity). To see what edits you've made go to the upper right corner and click "My Contributions" next to "My watchlist". (To see someone else's contributions go to their user or user talk page and it's on the left edge in the toolbox called "user contributions".) RJFJR (talk) 17:04, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
quick note re Feedback request
[edit]I did a little cleanup. Just FYI, it makes more sense to ask for notification at your talk page. For example, I'll add this note to your talk page, and you will see an obvious notification next time you log on. I'm going to contact someone else who may be better equipped to provide feedback.--SPhilbrickT 16:32, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
2nd rewrite of the finite-state machine intro
[edit]Thanks for the response. Also thanks for the message you left on my talk page. As I can see from the above comment, it's apparently a standard procedure in Wikipedia. I wasn't familiar with it up until now :). —Preceding unsigned comment added by M!uqomzXb (talk • contribs) 11:29, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 8
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Glushkov's construction algorithm, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Thompson. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Reference errors on 29 July
[edit]Hello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that some edits performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. They are as follows:
- On the Skew binary number system page, your edit caused a DOI error (help). (Fix | Ask for help)
- On the Sparse representations of numbers page, your edit caused a DOI error (help). (Fix | Ask for help)
Please check these pages and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 00:21, 30 July 2016 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Sparse representation of a number
[edit]The article Sparse representation of a number has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Original research. The only refs seem to be on other topics, such as skew binomial heaps which do not work the same way. There are no sources for the main part of it and a search turns up nothing.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 12:27, 7 August 2016 (UTC)
Nomination of Sparse representation of a number for deletion
[edit]A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Sparse representation of a number is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sparse representation of a number until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 18:18, 8 August 2016 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for December 3
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Purely functional data structure, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Haskell (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

I have just reviewed the page, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
I'm not sure it's appropriate to include the pseudocode example in the lead, especially since the pseudocode just describes the update function.

- @Rosguill:I understand your concern and I'll rewrite this lead. Can you please tell me why the message appears here and not on the talk page. I doubt many people will care about this page. But even if we are the only people discussion, it would be nice that the page have the history of the discussion related to this subject.

Hello, do you know how Skolem arithmetic (i.e. the first order theory of multiplication of natural numbers) looks like?
[edit]I've just asked that at the Reference desk 185.46.78.56 (talk) 08:14, 2 May 2019 (UTC)
I meant, what are the axioms of Skolem arithmetic? Are they, all Peano's axioms, excluding those that contain the "+" symbol? Additionally, is the axiomatic system of Skolem arithmetic - finite? Is it complete? Unfortunately, the page about this arithmetic contains no hint on that... 185.46.78.67 (talk) 15:38, 2 May 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Measure of presortedness moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Measure of presortedness, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. [edit]Your draft article, Draft:Measure of presortedness
[edit]Hello, Arthur MILCHIOR. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Measure of presortedness".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted.
