Jenkinson's nationality

Please provide me with a reference that says flag has to indicate the nation for which a player has played most recently even if it is at youth level. Otherwise, please refer to the official Arsenal website and undo your change because it would be considered to be vandalism to the change I made earlier. Thank you.--Miunouta (talk) 16:01, 21 September 2012 (UTC)

Nomination of Serge Gnabry for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Serge Gnabry is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Serge Gnabry until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Walter Görlitz (talk) 23:17, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

Serge Gnabry

It may be worth adding a few sources to the article to prove notability under WP:GNG as I'm not sure the article currently meets WP:NFOOTY. Despite the apparent consensus that a person is presumed notable for appearing in a competitive match between two fully pro teams, there is nothing currently documented in the notability criteria. Hack (talk) 02:02, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

No major issue. I was a little surprised to see that players like him didn't meet WP:NFOOTY to be honest. Hack (talk) 02:43, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
I think a lot of people just assumed that WP:FOOTYN still applied. I guess I've stirred the hornet's nest - hopefully it ends well. Hack (talk) 04:01, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Beat me to it!

Hi Arsenalkid700. I was just about to drop you a note to say "well, I've made a start on a template for the Sporting Clube de Goa squad, but the player list looks all wrong" and so on. I am surprised they hadn't included signing a Japanese import and so on. Though Goa's a relatively wealthy area, it's (as of 1961) still in a developing world country, so updating the club website might be low on the priority list.

I'm not a template-y sort of person, but I create one every now and then out of interest. I'm going to have a crack at making it pretty, but I'll leave the team list up to you and the other experts. Here's the plain text without player names, to save you having cut them out before correcting it:

If you want, I can email you the excel spreadsheet I've been using to manipulate the data.

(nb: if it is completely unnecessary for you to have the above, please don't be miffed by me sending it to you. Took me about two hours to create a very simple template!)

Oh - come to think of it, if you can point me to where the correct team details are, I could correct the template myself.

Thanks for the message, and happy editing. Cheers --Shirt58 (talk) 04:45, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

I can see the need for player numbers. I'll take the template off the articles I've just added it to. Probably not a BLP violation to have the wrong number on a player's article or on a template, but still wrong to have incorrect info in an article. And off to see if I can find correct numbers! By the way, it's the middle of the afternoon here. What time-zone are you in? --Shirt58 (talk) 05:14, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
Your solution - template without numbers - looks good to me.--Shirt58 (talk) 05:21, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
I'm listening to it on the radio. Very glad for the existence of the A-League. I find October very boring, because the "football" seasons have ended and the cricket season has yet to really begin. "October is the cruelest month, breeding..." --Shirt58 (talk) 05:33, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

Messi

Thank you

yes I'm new here i didnt know about the consensus thing before also :) but it makes sense ...

I've a question please ... earlier today i uploaded photos & updated Alex song profile.. it was a totally random photo from a website found from google.com and i put that when i uploaded even put the author name whoever found with photos after saving it .

but now they posted i need an email or permission from him ... so does it mean i cant just google good resolution photos from websites they put it for whoever can see or use it ?

--Adnan 15 october 2012

Hello again

you asked me to put a discussion about messi's page earlier which no one really responded to it , and even the first discussion was between 4 maybe 5 people only ? and found also not only goals against different clubs have been removed the assists ssection and youth section so i wonder why asked me to discuss it while no one really want to talk about it including you.

Thank you

Dude, why did you delete all the referenced elements in this article? I have reverted as I assume that this must have been an error on your part. It is completely unacceptable to delete whole sections of articles, particularly when they are referenced without establishing consensus. It is even more unacceptable to do so when you only removed the reffed elements, leaving a completely unreffed article. If you have an issue with any of the refs, please raise this on the talk page and seek consensus. Fenix down (talk) 08:56, 22 October 2012 (UTC)

Why wait until the end of the season, competitions are updated on a "live" basis. Please do not revert for a third time unless you have established consensus, particularly when the current seasons items appear to be properly reffed. There is no need to delete another editor's work, because it is something that you think is more trouble than it is worth to do during the season. Fenix down (talk) 09:07, 22 October 2012 (UTC)

Seriously, "trust me on this" is not an acceptable edit summary to justify removing an entire section of an article. I note that there are other significant sections of the article which are also unreferenced, yet you did not remove them. Perhaps because these are the ones you created yourself? If you feel that a section is completely wrong or unjustified, first start a section in the talk page for the article and if there is no response there, take it to the wikiproject talk page.

I have noticed a worrying trend in your editing recently where you are beginning to act like you "own" articles on Indian football. You do not. As my two previous comments show, you need to work much harder at establishing consensus before blindly removing significant proprortions of articles. There were significant issues with you editing previously because you wouldn't do this and got involved in edit wars. If I see any more random deletions, I will have to bring it to an admins attention as it is beginning to seem like a worrying habit. Fenix down (talk) 09:22, 22 October 2012 (UTC)

I see what you mean but we do have an agreement here (me and other I-League editors). Last season we (The Indian football editors) wanted to add the Foreigners table, Goalkeepers table and Personell and Kits section. Now last season we did not do the goalkeepers section at all. We tried the personell table but that did not work out in the end due to vandalism and many clubs not being updated and we did the foreigners section. Now that is when I decided to do all this. And that is when I went in agreement with some of the other main Indian football editors on here that I would go through all 14 I-League pages individually and revamp them all, rewrite them all, update every single player and make some templates and categories. And while doing that I shall fill in a Personell and Kits section and Foreigners Table. Now all that takes a long time. I started revamping my first club, Air India, in May and I only finished all this last week. A lot has changed and patience had been running out so one of the editors unhid the foreigners table thinking it was ready, when it was not. There were players that were not even on the teams anymore. And the way the table is structured is horrible, it should be based on when the player joined the club. Now the goalkeepers thing was not referenced and hard to keep up, had to get rid of it. As for me owning the page, well I would not put it like that. I do see where you are coming from but that is probably because when I undo edits its because they make a page inconsistent with others and all that but I will never assume ownership over any page and if that is the case then... do whatever.
Also, please, I rather not go back to that old time in July where my wiki career went on a pause for a stupid reason. I was an idiot then who found a small amount of time to edit on wikipedia and that happened. I want that to never EVER FUC*ING HAPPEN AGAIN! And I rather you not talk to me about this again. I already am still a little pissed at that statement back in June and I rather not go back their. Now if you want to go ahead and patrol me like my mother and make my life on here a living hell then go ahead. Do what you want. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 10:23, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
Oh and don't worry, I will not revert a third-time on the List of I-League hat-tricks article but do look at it for me. Does it look right? I would think not. That is also a major reason I undid the edit. Fine add it, but add it in the proper format please. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 10:35, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
You need to have a good look at your attitude. Please don't ever leave language like that on my talk page again, you were blocked for a very good reason. Also, you should not have informal agreements with other editors. The Indian football pages do not belong only to those who edit them, you need to seek consensus with users. Please show where these informal guidelines have been documented for other editors. The reason I mentioned your previous blocks were because you failed to seek consensus and appear to be continuing to do so. Simply because tables might go out of date or be vandalised is no reason for them to be deleted. You merely add the relevant "updated" tag so readers know when it was written. It's pretty obvious really. Also if you are worried about articles not being in sync with one another, may I recommend that you do all the revamping in your user space and then bring them all into wiki at the same time.
Also, with the list of hat-tricks, you are right, the link should be a clear ref in the relevant column, but you certainly don't go around deleting other editor's contributions because you disagree with the formatting! It might be easier, but you must also be aware that you removed perfectly relevant and referenced work, which is completely unacceptable.Fenix down (talk) 10:53, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
Sorry about the original, harsh tone in my first reply back to you. I did not want to do it. I have just woke up and feeling under the weather and to be honest, after July, you are one of the last wikipedians that I want to be involved with right now. You have to understand what happened that month was a huge blow to me and was part of the reason for my section blanking. Yes, my weak point is that I am quick to undo an edit or get rid of something and give other editors the impression I own a page. I will admit that at first that was the case because when I first started on here it was just me and some other user doing Indian football articles. He left and I started to do work on other topics (Arsenal etc) and eventually I had to work with other editors and it was tough. I did get used to it but I would agree if you did not agree with that. Now I from your edits I can see that you to are also pretty pissed at what happened around that time (mainly because I would not notify you if that vandal came to the Gomes page and I take full blame for that. I said I would revamp the page but I did not.) That is my fault and I will take all the blame for that. Now I do not this to hit me back and nor do I want you to be pissed at me because that is not why, as a volunteer, I am here. I am here to try and improve pages, create some history (you know what I mean :D ) and maybe make some friends on here. I have not done any of those three but I hope to as time goes by. Now I wish to get back into the good side of you that I was in before the Manuel Gomes incident. Please, that was a long time ago and should not be referenced anymore. Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 10:57, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
That's cool, be assured it is nothing personal, I know you do a lot of good work around here on a neglected area of the wiki, but you must also understand that your acts of deletion can be construed by others as just as bad as the vandalism you try to correct. I don't want you to think of me as an enemy or anything like that, just that it is frustrating when significant edits are made to articles without establishing consensus visibly, noting anything on the talk page or providing a full edit summary. Fenix down (talk) 11:13, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
Fine. That is acceptable. I have undid my edit on the 2012-13 I-League page. I will add the updates when I have time. And I understand your frustration. I will work on developing consensus before something major like that again. Thank you for bringing this to attention as this is an area of me that needed that and also for letting us resolve this. Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 11:20, 22 October 2012 (UTC)

I-League managers

If you wish to revert the changes, then please be my guest, or at least just hide the changes so they can easily be put back if/when they are ready. Druryfire (talk) 12:34, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Quartz Soccer Club.png)

Thanks for uploading File:Quartz Soccer Club.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Including Hat-tricks

Why not to include the hat-tricks scored by a player in the Carreer Statistics section. Moreover in so relevant cases such as Messi who has scored 23 hat-tricks.

Hat-tricks

Not sure what this is all about... --Kinu t/c 23:37, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

Michael Tayo

Hi Arsenalkid, wonder if you can take a look at the Michael Tayo article when you have your next Wiki-session. Think he has played in the I-league, which is your specialist area?! Thanks, Cloudz679 11:16, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

Category:Unassessed football in India articles

there is no template named catmore1 174.56.57.138 (talk) 22:14, 10 November 2012 (UTC)

Step 1) Go to Category:Unassessed football in India articles
Step 2) Notice the red link to {{catmore1}}
Step 3) Fix it
Step 4) Check what links to {{catmore1}} and realise that you are responsible for all of them.
Hope this is clear. 174.56.57.138 (talk) 22:46, 10 November 2012 (UTC)
Fixed and by the way Arsenalkid your WikiProject taskforce is now functional. Good luck! Cloudz679 16:30, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

Template:India squad 2012 AFC Challenge Cup

I've fixed the squad in this template → Template:India squad 2012 AFC Challenge Cup, the creator copied the old template & never updated the squad. I had to order the players by position as the original source from the AFC is dead. Is there any way you could find a source which provides the squad numbers. ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 17:19, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

I don't know why I didn't think of that as I said not feeling great I'll blame the antibiotics, I see they're not numbered 1-23 is that usual for that tournament. Thanks for the link ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 12:07, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
