Thanks

[edit]

Thank you for finishing the ginger ales template, and expanding the energy drinks template. Also I would like to point out to you the {{sodas}} template for pages that have multiple soda templates on them; using it will cut down on the clutter on those pages that have multiple flavors. --Jeremy (blah blah) 00:28, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks also for the assessment drive! here's a reward for you. --Jeremy (blah blah) 14:42, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Coca-cola formula

[edit]

Thanks for rating this article! I hope you like the changes we made. Actually one of the hardest things was doing the recipes and I've taken this to WP:MOSNUM with another editor, and to talk on {{convert}} since the convert templates are not very good for recipes. Of course Wikipedia is not a cookbook but where important there need to be standard ways to write these things, I think. Having lived in the UK and US and having cookbooks and measuring jugs etc from both sides it's ridiculous when a publisher translates half an ounce as 14.16 g or whatever, you don't cook that way. Obvously in this formula it is essential to be accurate but in other articles knocking down the precision is more appropriate.

Please excuse me for bothering you, I've done about 5000 edits but the intricacies of the WP editing process still elude me.

Can you tell me how the assessment process works because this just magically appeared? I hope you appreciate our efforts. SimonTrew (talk) 19:17, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am not an expert on recipes, by any means. I was working towards cleaning and improving WikiProject Soft Drinks. Of course, your article falls into that Project. The assessment process is much the same for all articles, but as given by WPSD, it can be found here. I assessed your article as C class because I thought it was well written, treated the subject matter well, and was organized. Articles require more stringent assessment for a B or better rating, so I normally rate only C or below. The B-class assessment criteria are available at the page I linked above. From personal opinion, you might want to include commercials/ads where Coca-Cola flaunts their secret formula (they play in movie previews here in the U.S. all the time). As for your article's importance, that is a measure of how important it is to WikiProject Soft Drinks. My reasoning was that the Coke formula is not a core soft drink topic, nor is it notable to most Wikipedians. However, it is an important topic. Assessing an article's importance is necessarily a subjective process - if either rating is not what you wanted, you can request another active WPSD editor to redo it, or submit it for reassessment on the page I linked above. WikiProject Mountain Biking

[edit]

Hi, you might want to check my comments at WikiProject Mountain Biking. Cheers, SeveroTC 16:44, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the disambig links because the amount of redlinks introduced were over the top. You may have fixed links to disambig pages, but the links were still red and were filling the template full or visually unappealing red spots. I already worked on creating a dozen articles to cover the redlinks in the first two sections, and more just kept popping up. These articles should be added once they are created, not before. --Jeremy (blah blah) 05:02, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:France Singapore Locator.svg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NW (Talk) 18:53, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Stubs

[edit]

Hi, I've noticed you've created some new stubs lately, however, all stub types should be proposed through WikiProject Stub sorting. I've listed the stubs you've created at WP:WSS/D (the stub discoveries page). I'd welcome your input there. Thanks, SeveroTC 19:30, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Inactive WikiProjects?

[edit]

I noticed that several of the WikiProjects you tagged as inactive have activity on their talk page within the last month or two, and other evidence of ongoing activities. I was curious as to what your criteria were for calling a project "inactive". Guettarda (talk) 23:31, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK...I still don't see how these criteria apply to the Banksia WikiProject. There was a long discussion within the last few weeks about moving forward, a GA nom, and active discussion on how to prepare that GA for an FA nom. Haven't looked deeply at the others, but I recall that one of them had a new member sign up in June and launched a portal. The issue, as I see it, isn't one what criteria you're using; the issue is how carefully you're applying them. Guettarda (talk) 14:14, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

project inactivity

[edit]
(edit conflict with above, raising the same point at the same time)

Hello,

It bothers me that people judge project activity not by how much actual article improvement is going on, but by how much worthless sideshow activity is going on. For example, WP:BANKSIA has a major collaboration going on at Banksia prionotes, on top of plenty more less conspicuous activity; plus there is discussion on the project talk page that is less than a week old.

I can only assume that you tagged WP:BANKSIA as inactive based solely upon the fact that the quality assessment logs don't show any recent activity. As I said, this bothers me. Your "inactive" tag rather felt like an accusation of underperformance.

Non-free rationale for File:DoesGodPlayDice IanStewart.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:DoesGodPlayDice IanStewart.JPG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 22:38, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
