Babe
[edit]You have changed the film genre several times for Babe. Wikipedia is not there to record the opinions of individual editors but the WP:CONSENSUS view. So if you want that change to be made you should discuss it on the Talk page first and give a WP:SOURCE to support it. If you change the edit back again, you will be breaking the WP:3RR rule, which is counted as disruption and can get your account blocked if you persist. I suggest you look at the guidelines and learn how to edit before you make any more changes. Sweetpool50 (talk) 10:08, 17 November 2020 (UTC)
- Sweetpool50, I want to apologize for over-editing the genre of Babe. I just want to show the world that this movie is for kids. I understand that I can’t edit multiple times. I just hope that you’ll understand that I wanted to set things right on Babe, even though you didn’t like my editing. Will you please forgive me for the mistakes I made? Thanks!!! AmericaBoy3446 (talk) 16:15, 17 November 2020 (UTC)
- To Sweetpool50 (talk): P.S. I won’t be editing stuff without your permission again because I did not know that there’s a strict limitation on editing. So please, accept my apology and I will let you do all the editing without me. AmericaBoy3446 (talk) 16:27, 17 November 2020 (UTC)
Agreement thru consensus is not the same as gaining a fellow-editor's permission. Do as I suggested and read the guidelines mentioned by clicking on the links to them and you'll begin to understand something about editing on WP. Sweetpool50 (talk) 16:39, 17 November 2020 (UTC)
Ok Sweetpool50,
I found several rules that I had to follow when I edit things: 1. Be clear 2. Be as concise as possible 3. Emphasize the spirit of the rule 4. Maintain scope and avoid redundancy 5. Avoid overlinking 6. Don’t contradict with each other
Do you think those rules are fair to me? You asked me to look at the guidelines and I did. AmericaBoy3446 (talk) 23:11, 17 November 2020 (UTC)
- What do you mean, are the guidelines fair to you? Do you think they are unfair? Sweetpool50 (talk) 23:17, 17 November 2020 (UTC)
Well, the rules said that I have to be clear and specific on the plots, summaries, essays, and the reasons why I edited the genres and/or subjects on some wiki pages, which are fair to me. The only rule that is unfair to me is the 3RR rule that says I have to make only three reverts within 24 hours when I’m editing. I have to let you know that you need to be more polite and tolerant when we’re talking on the wiki discussions because I felt offended that you were accusing me of “disrupting” the pages and committing to edit warring. I didn’t want an edit war, I want to edit the details to make things clear and accurate, so the world can understand what really happened. Please don’t be rude to me again when I’m trying to edit. - You still have a lot to learn about working in co-operation with other editors. Warning you of the consequences of breaking WP:3RR before you made yourself liable to the consequences is not an accusation of anything. I will warn you, however, that exclusively insisting on your own point of view is the kind of behavior that leads to edit wars, which is why there are so many guidelines. What really offends you, it seems to me, is the mere suggestion that you could ever be wrong. If you really "want the world to understand" something, then a reliable source is needed to back it up. Take another look at WP:SOURCE and WP:CONSENSUS. Nothing you have quoted so far provides any evidence that you have yet done so. Sweetpool50 (talk) 11:57, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
A Dog’s Way Home
[edit]Hello Sweetpool50,
I want to let you know that yesterday, I edited the genre of the movie “A Dog’s Way Home” because since I watched it, there was too much trauma in this movie and it’s not good for the families and definitely not good for the children. First of all, the “family” genre should be removed from “A Dog’s Way Home” because it is not a family movie. Second, the “drama” genre should be added to this movie, even though I agree with the “adventure” genre. Finally, I added details of what really happened in the plot of this movie because the dog catcher was not the only one who was involved because the police were involved in Bella’s impoundment and the dog catcher threatened to have Bella’s owner, Lucas, arrested if he resist.
Please reconsider your decision on reverting the page back to the original edition. A lot of movie viewers want to know what really happened in this movie. Thank you!!! AmericaBoy3446 (talk) 18:26, 17 November 2020 (UTC)
- You don't listen too well, do you? WP is not there for you to record your personal opinion. Discuss the changes you propose on the movie's Talk page and provide a source to back them up. Sweetpool50 (talk) 19:29, 17 November 2020 (UTC)
Warning
[edit]You are obviously only here disrupt articles without achieving WP:consensus for the changes you want to make. If you continue, the administrators will be informed and take appropriate action. Sweetpool50 (talk) 19:41, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
OK AmericaBoy3446, you're obviously frustrated because you don't understand how things work on Wikipedia. Leaving abusive edits on an article's Talk page isn't the right method to sort things out, however. So here's one way for you to consider. You could ask for a WP:MENTOR, of which there is a list of adopters at this site. I hope that helps. Sweetpool50 (talk) 08:07, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
