Thanks. I saw your special WikiProject Rivers is going on. Since I'm from Norway, and thus able to translate Norwegian articles about Norwegian rivers into English, I decided to contribute. So that instead of torturing yourself in reading the exotic, meaningless, native language of a people who once robbed and invaded England, you may now instead read about rivers in your own language − in merry old England. :) --Adamaisaka 23:15, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rana Niejta / article redirects

[edit]

Hi, I was just reading the article you created back in October - Rana Niejta. Good job, by the way. For future reference, when you create an article about something that has more than one way of spelling the name, could you create redirects for the alternatives? See Wikipedia:Redirect for more details of what I mean. This way, people using the other spellings can find the article more easily, and also, there is less chance that duplicate articles will be created at the other spellings. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, --BelovedFreak 18:38, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alternative names were added, since there are so many Saami dialects / languages. Living close to the Ume Saami area, I used their local pronouncement of this goddess. I'm not sure which of the name forms which should be considered as the «correct one». In fact, it seems to me that they all are! Before writing the article, I contacted one of the few remaining native speakers of Ume Sami, and they called her Rana Niejta. --Adamaisaka 23:07, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Selfors Church

[edit]

The article Selfors Church has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 18:33, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image source problem with Image:Akhenaten or Smenkhkare Amarna-realism.jpg

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Akhenaten or Smenkhkare Amarna-realism.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:56, 17 November 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. dave pape (talk) 17:56, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
