Note on Yeshiva article and request for guidance

[edit]

Please correct me if this is not the proper use of a user talk page.

I just wanted to mention that I added a comment after your comment on "Yeshiva", explaining the difference between the American usage of the term and the historical / international one, which is used by the article (not mine). I think this has caused quite a bit of misunderstanding on that page--84.229.51.101 (talk) 10:06, 8 January 2010 (UTC).[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates or other materials from Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Thank you. Icarus of old (talk)

on the contrary, a vandal is repeatedly posting wrong information and information from a source that dishonestly claims Rosler to be a faculty member. Previously it was also listed that Rosler was born i Canada, leading to several public announcements to that effect. Threats are not appreciated. Why not go after the vandal? Actio (talk) 02:35, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Next time you remove referenced material from this article you will be blocked from editing. The choice is yours. Moriori (talk) 02:46, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
i just saw this, and although I am not going to go back and look at the article at present, I am not surprised that people don't want to work on improving wikipedia when correcting false information leads to really crude threats posed in the most impolite possible manner and without explanation. Just because something is 'referenced' DOES NOT mean it is correct. Obviously.

The fact that the page I was correcting was repeatedly vandalized clearly means nothing to "Moriori" (who rather than answering my question simply added the grotesque phrase 'the choice is yours,' to the threat. Actio (talk) 17:49, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You are free to fix the Sherman article substantively. Your problem appears to be that you do not follow appropriate MOS, BLP, etc. If you follow the reading material suggested in the welcome message at the top of the page, especially Learn from others, Play nicely with others and Contribute, Contribute, Contribute!, you should be OK. Feel free to contact me if you have any edits you are not sure about, and I will advise as best I can. Quis separabit? 21:19, 24 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Jerzy Popiełuszko, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Williamsburg and Greenpoint. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Prignitz may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

Family of Man

[edit]

Actio, yes I would not nominate this article as of high quality...it's a huge topic that requires many more contributors putting in. It is good to see your interest and to have your amendment, but your immoderate language is unpleasant...keep your hat on! I'm sure you have constructive and learned input to bring the The Family of Man article up to a standard of which you approve. It would be very welcome. I'll own up, my signature was not appearing on comments in talk pages for a while due to some malfunction...I have been kindly helped by some generous editors to sort that. Best wishes Jamesmcardle(talk) 08:00, 27 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

so what's the solution? The subject is of great interest to photography history, and i am not aware of immoderate language. Sorry. Tagging one writer , and an eminent one at that, with a political slant is not a good approach, imo. and suggests a tentative hold on the lineup of writers and commentators on this landmark exhibition and on the field in general. cheers. Our article about John Fund

[edit]

Thanks for your recent comment at talk:John Fund. I've taken the liberty of moving it to a new section at the bottom of that page in the hope of making it more noticeable and getting some responses. Please feel free to revert that edit if you don't like what I did, or to choose a better name for that section than "July 2018".

I may well end up suggesting we run a discussion about deleting the article, but I'll wait a few days before making any response, to give other people a chance to respond to all the points you made. Cheers, CWC 01:11, 10 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
