[edit]Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Dogma (film), but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 23:40, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
Please note that genius.com is not a reliable source. DonIago (talk) 20:21, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
Uploading audio samples of songs
[edit]Hello. Please be aware there is a significant barrier to uploading audio samples of songs on Wikipedia. To justify inclusion of audio samples, the songs need to be discussed critically and fulfil multiple other criteria per WP:NFCC. Uploading them and merely including statements about what West is rapping about or which other song 21 Savage's track is sampling is not considered critical discussion of the sample. These statements could be included in the prose without the reader gaining anything from listening to the samples, therefore they fail WP:NFCC and have been removed. Please bear this in mind before uploading any more audio samples. Thanks. Ss112 15:31, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
- I'd argue about this but i fully understand. I uploaded samples unnecessarily and will not do it again. Thank you for telling me 3dollarsinmybankaccount (talk) 15:43, 23 February 2024 (UTC)

- (Above is the canned auto reply, this is not) Odd that I accidentally happened on this file (I've been here 17 years, didn't even know we had timedtext), but it has the copyrighted lyrics embedded in a file for a sound sample that was deleted, so there wasn't any possible fair use claim possible. It was basically orphaned. Someone already explained above, the same applies here. No harm, but ask around first if you want to upload new material, to make sure it complies with the many rules.
