Royal Air Force

[edit]

Hi - You have now made the same edit to the Royal Air Force three times without consensus. I suggest you urgently read WP:3RR. Thank you. Dormskirk (talk) 23:35, 11 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi I have gone to the talk page as suggested by a colleague and explained my rationale so I don’t think it’s three reverts. I think only reverted you once as you didn’t give any explanation for your objection to my edit except for “British English”. Can you come the the RAF talk page and we would discuss? No need to bite or get grumpy with the 3RR policy which threatens blocking! I’m not Edit warring with you at all just disagreeing and waiting for you to reply on the talk page. Thanks 2A02:C7F:3A65:BE00:9CDA:E890:A407:7AC8 (talk) 23:49, 11 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi - I have already commented on that page. Dormskirk (talk) 23:55, 11 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Royal Air Force. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. - wolf 23:51, 11 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
This is one of the first times I’ve edited Wikipedia and I have to say I don’t feel very welcome. I just tried to make a contribution and then went to the talk page as soon as someone asked me to to talk about the point. You are now the 2nd person to tell me I might get blocked! I haven’t done anything disruptive just made an edit and then tried to talk in the chat room section about my rationale. Please be nice guys! 2A02:C7F:3A65:BE00:9CDA:E890:A407:7AC8 (talk) 00:00, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Thewolfchild: please see above thanks . 2A02:C7F:3A65:BE00:9CDA:E890:A407:7AC8 (talk) 00:17, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

(No need to ping to me, I am watching this page. - wolf 00:37, 12 February 2023 (UTC))[reply]

(edit conflict) First off, let me assure you that you are welcome here. That said, the change made was disputed, and once it was, you should have gone to the talk page to discuss it without trying to repeatedly change it again at the same time. You've now reverted two different editors that disagree with you. It's unfortunate that your first foray into Wikipedia has you at odds with others, but people will not always agree, and because of this, we have system in place for handling content disputes. That system, and this project as whole, are goverened by policies & guidelines, as well as some long-standing essays, widely practiced processes and a manual of style. It's the responsibility of each user to learn and abide by these rules. There are many of them, but they are searchable, and there are venues here to assist you, such as the help desk, and also the Teahouse (which I will link for you below). I also suggest you read through the 'welcome' template I placed at the top of this page. It contains a lot of useful information for new users. - wolf 00:35, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
