You're absolutely right, they do need better recognition but the way to do that is by finding quality sources - not blogs and other webpages that took a lot of their information from Wikipedia in the first place. I said quality sources. You used four in your edit

[1] This howstuffworks page gives no source for the information about Babbitt so it's just the authors opinion.
[2] The millsarchive page on Babbitt lifts a lot of the information from the Wikipedia article so you can't use it a source for the Wikipedia article - see WP:CIRCULAR
[3] Technical Innovation in American History doesn't give the same positive gloss that your edit did and makes it clear that the author thinks "it is unlikely that she (Babbitt) invented the circular saw".
"Women of Invention: Life-Changing Ideas by Remarkable Women" - this fails verification as you didn't supply enough information e.g. page number to enable anyone to check whether the reference is correctly used.

Like I said she deserves better and certainly a less negative lead paragraph e.g. the use of the word "purported" but using poor sources is not the way to do it. Nthep (talk) 19:33, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
