[edit]

Hello 2603:8080:B200:5CDE:33C5:6967:A368:4373!

Thank you for your contributions to this free encyclopedia. You are welcome to continue editing articles without logging in, but you may wish to create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits. If you edit without a username, your IP address (2603:8080:B200:5CDE:33C5:6967:A368:4373) is used to identify you instead.

In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please remember to sign your name on talk pages by clicking or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your username and the date. Also, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field. Below are some useful links to help you get started.

Re: your edits

[edit]

Hello. If you find that an edit you've made has been reverted, (eg: your repeated attempts to remove every. single. hyphen you find), it's best that you not try to make the same edit again, but to instead start a discussion on the article talk page regarding the content in question and your proposed changes to it. Repeatedly making the same edit is considered disruptive and can lead to edit warring, which is not permitted. Please read through the 'welcome' template above, including all the links, for more information on how to edit, and if you have any questions, you can contact the Help Desk at any time. Thank you, and welcome to Wikipedia - wolf 22:09, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

National varieties of English

[edit]

Information icon Hello. In a recent edit to the page Hughes XF-11, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the first author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. BilCat (talk) 23:32, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Hughes XF-11. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. BilCat (talk) 23:49, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Flight 191, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, please discuss them with the editors at WP:TEAHOUSE. Your changes are not helpful. These were never intended to be "complete sentences", but you just turned them into sentence fragments with unnecessary punctuation and oververbiage. Julietdeltalima (talk) 15:33, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry you cannot recognize complete sentences, and you are of the incorrect opinion that they are not preferable to the real fragments before the edit. Maybe you could take an English course and/or reread the policies and guidelines. 2603:8080:B200:5CDE:33C5:6967:A368:4373 (talk) 16:47, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
