Academy Awards

[edit]

Information icon Hi there, could you explain a revert reason in Academy Awards. 'World of' doesn't fit it, what does it mean? Thanks. Stevencocoboy (talk) 02:18, 21 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Let me just say that "excellence in the world of film industry" could not really make sense and that just "excellence in the film industry" is better in describing the purpose of the awards. Yes, the world, I assumed, refers to the industry worldwide and not just in the US; but historically and more broadly, it is usually just the industry in general. 2601AC47 (talk·contribs·my rights) Isn't a IP anon 02:46, 21 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

FYI

[edit]

In case you're unaware, the IP you reverted at the Teahouse is a very persistent LTA that has been spamming the Teahouse (and less frequently, other Wikipedia forums) for a few months now. They tend to personalize and hound anyone that engages with them extensively; I would recommend just reverting their edits and if need be requesting page protection, there's no need for user warnings at this point. signed, Rosguill talk 20:19, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I'm certainly well aware... 2601AC47 (talk·contribs·my rights) Isn't a IP anon 20:21, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

List of Sesame Workshop productions

[edit]

Why did you revert my revert to 198.176.113.149's edits of List of Sesame Workshop productions? They didn't provide sources for MGM dropping out of production and/or the film releasing this year (2025). 66.164.104.47 (talk) 17:20, 9 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure that the reliable sources for that may say otherwise. But there's no irony to say that MGM or Amazon aren't involved in that film anyway. 2601AC47 (talk·contribs·my rights) Isn't a IP anon 17:24, 9 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The first source linked in that section of the article is only about The Witches (2020) and doesn't mention the Sesame Street movie at all, the second source mentions MGM being involved, the third source doesn't mention MGM but that doesn't indicate that they dropped out. None of the sources indicate a release year and were all retrieved around 2019/2020, not 2025. 66.164.104.47 (talk) 17:36, 9 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Effectively, with only several edits in 3 hours, don't put it there; got it. I may add to have a minor obsession with those that're born and dead in the same years. 2601AC47 (talk·contribs·my rights) Isn't a IP anon 16:51, 14 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Things were changing so fast I apparently not only misclicked when reverting but warned the wrong person. My bad. Carry on. Beeblebrox Beebletalks 22:48, 15 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for semi-protecting it. Which is most shameful because, well, it has been going for so long. Any chance we've found a way to, perhaps more than anything, permanently stop his access to the wiki? 2601AC47 (talk·contribs·my rights) Isn't a IP anon 22:51, 15 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Apparently not. This isn't the first and won't be the last tedious repetitive troll who keeps this sort of thing up for a while, eventually they get more bored with it than we are. Beeblebrox Beebletalks 23:58, 15 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You've reverted me 9 times. I'd like an explanation, thank you. Legend of 14 (talk) 19:06, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Because... I don't think you're going to appreciate this, but they each appeared to remove information about these agencies. I know this is not going to end well for you but: Please get consensus from other editors before you do so. Otherwise, feel free to keep that up, and risk more than a few good reverts. 2601AC47 (talk·contribs·my rights) Isn't a IP anon 19:10, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That doesn't explain the removal of the maintenance tags from Office of Women's Social and Economic Opportunity, Cabinet Office (Ontario) or Zee Hamid. I did not remove any content from Cabinet Office (Ontario) or Zee Hamid. Legend of 14 (talk) 19:14, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Or Ministry of Health (Ontario) Legend of 14 (talk) 19:15, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I actually want to know why you did from other articles in question? 2601AC47 (talk·contribs·my rights) Isn't a IP anon 19:17, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ministry of Long-Term Care was a bad fork, so I remerged into Ministry of Health (Ontario). Office of Women's Social and Economic Opportunity has no references so I tagged accordingly. Many of Zee Hamid's sources are missing dates or access dates, so I tagged incomplete citations. Cabinet Office (Ontario) is a stub and 1/3 citations were from the government of Ontario so I tagged accordingly. Legend of 14 (talk) 19:22, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I used edit summaries in these cases and even had talk post listing describing my edits in the case of Ministry of Health. Legend of 14 (talk) 19:23, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I sincerely don't agree. You really did so. 2601AC47 (talk·contribs·my rights) Isn't a IP anon 19:24, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Closures on WP:BLPN

[edit]

You have closed 2 discussion on BLPN. One of these you were involved in and contains a summary I found disrespectful towards me. The second cites the first disrespectful summary. I'm asking that you remove the disrespectful summaries. Legend of 14 (talk) 02:52, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

And like that'll happen... Sorry, but I'm not going to. Someone may, if there is still in any way a discussion needed. But know this: I'm not from Ontario. I care as little as everyone else not there about the articles' content so long that whether any guidelines or points from the MoS are followed.
Do know that I'm not looking for trouble myself. If, to any extent, you still do so and try to bring me to it, than so be it. I got something else in mind to cover. 2601AC47 (talk·contribs·my rights) Isn't a IP anon 12:46, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry if you feel that we've let you down on here (and I wish you well going forward elsewhere). But that doesn't change the fact that there were issues with your contributions; and while I'm not seen as always well-intention or respectful as I perhaps should strive to be (and I've learned over the years to be good with those I interact on the wikis I've contributed to), I think I made things clear and sufficiently to you that this was your burden (perhaps, partly, all of us too). It's truly unfortunate that you went this way and exited through the door.
When you're ready to return to Wikipedia, than let us know. 2601AC47 (talk·contribs·my rights) Isn't a IP anon 16:58, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
