I removed the warning that was posted here because the IP's edit was not vandalism (see Wikipedia's definition). However, the person using this IP should know that there would need to be a good reason (explained in an edit summary) for removing   and similar markup. Also, please avoid fiddling with spaces because it irritates editors (some like == Heading == and some like ==Heading==). Very few like changes to it. Disambiguation pages

[edit]

Please note that disambiguation pages like Middle of Nowhere are meant to help readers find a specific existing article quickly and easily. For that reason, they have guidelines that are different from articles. From the Wikipedia:Disambiguation dos and don'ts you should:

  • Only list articles that readers might reasonably be looking for
  • Use short sentence fragment descriptions, with no punctuation at the end
  • Use exactly one navigable link ("blue link") in each entry that mentions the title being disambiguated
  • Only add a "red link" if used in existing articles, and include a "blue link" to an appropriate article
  • Do not pipe links (unless style requires it) – keep the full title of the article visible
  • Do not insert external links or references - Wikipedia is not a business directory

Thank you. Leschnei (talk) 12:05, 14 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Convert

[edit]

Thanks for your work adding {{convert}} to articles. However, please do not use {{conv}} as in this edit and several more. Saving three characters by writing conv rather than convert is a false economy—it saves almost nothing. The abbreviation is rarely used (there are over 3.2 million {{convert}} in articles, and roughly 50 {{conv}}). Other editors know what convert is, but would wonder about conv. The confusion that generates is not worthwhile. Johnuniq (talk) 01:23, 12 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
