[edit]Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 16:50, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
This was already discussed (almost exactly 1 year ago) on the home automation talk page, and it was concluded that this IS a valuable resource, so I am a little disappointed that I have to go through this again.
This has nothing to do with search engine rankings, but everything about educating anyone interested in home automation.
While the wikipedia entry explains what home automation is, it doesn't help people interested in home automation get started, or find references as how to troubleshoot home automation problems.
I have been polling people who found CocoonTech via this entry if they thought this link was spam, or if it was useful, and they definitely did not want to see this reference removed. If there was a better resource out there, I would be all about linking to that instead, but there just isn't anything like it out there. Just take a look at the many home automation how-to's and other related articles, plus the ability to directly interact with the manufacturers in the home automation field.
If you are into home automation, then check the site out, you'll see it isn't spam. If you aren't into home automation, then please don't take away all this knowledge from people who are actually interested in this subject. 0xkiwi (talk)
FYI: this is just an example how this site doesn't promote anything but knowledge: I am not aware of any other site which discusses this type of topic: How To Interface a Dexcom Diabetes Monitor to your Home Automation System 0xkiwi (talk) 23:13, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
