The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes is an interactive drama and survival horror video game, developed by Supermassive Games and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It is the third game of the first season of The Dark Pictures Anthology and was released on 22 October 2021. Ashley Tisdale (pictured) was marketed as the game's lead. Set during the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the plot follows four Americans working for the US Armed Forces and one Iraqi Republican Guard who fall into a subterranean Akkadian temple where they must work together to survive the vampiric creatures that infest the area. The game features two single-player gameplay modes and two that are multiplayer, with one played online, while the other can be played locally. House of Ashes received mixed reviews from critics upon release. The fourth game in the series, The Devil in Me, was revealed in a teaser trailer at the end of House of Ashes, and released on 18 November 2022. (Full article...)

Created by Jac Schaeffer for the streaming service Disney+ and based on Marvel Comics, it features the characters Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch and Vision. Elizabeth Olsen (pictured) and Kathryn Hahn received the most acting nominations for the series. It was nominated for twenty-three Primetime Emmy Awards (the most of any limited series in 2021), including for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, and won three Creative Arts Emmy Awards. From major guilds, the series was nominated for a Producers Guild of America Award, a Writers Guild of America Award, and a Directors Guild of America Award. From 1970 to 2023, 279 players have been selected by the Portland Trail Blazers, an American professional basketball team in the National Basketball Association (NBA) based in Portland, Oregon. The franchise was founded in the 1970–71 NBA season and made their first draft pick in the 1970 NBA draft. Portland has held the first overall pick four times, selecting LaRue Martin in 1972, Bill Walton in 1974, Mychal Thompson in 1978, and Greg Oden in 2007. Three players drafted by Portland won the Rookie of the Year Award; Geoff Petrie (pictured), who was the franchise's inaugural draft pick, won in 1971, Sidney Wicks in 1972, and Damian Lillard in 2013. Four drafted players have been elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame: Walton, Dražen Petrović, Clyde Drexler, and Arvydas Sabonis, while nine have had their jersey number retired by the team. Walton and Drexler were named to the NBA 50th and 75th anniversary teams in 1996 and 2021, respectively, while Lillard was named to the 75th anniversary team. (Full list...)

The 1970 NBA expansion draft was the fifth expansion draft of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The draft was held on May 11, 1970, so that the newly founded Buffalo Braves, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Portland Trail Blazers could acquire players for the 1970–71 season. Buffalo, Cleveland, and Portland were awarded the expansion teams on February 6, 1970. The Braves' selections included six-time All-Star Bailey Howell, the Cavaliers' selections included All-Stars Don Ohl and Len Chappell, and the Blazers' selections included former first overall pick Fred Hetzel and former third pick Larry Siegfried. The Blazers also selected Pat Riley (pictured), who never played for the team, but went on to have a Hall of Fame coaching career, enshrined in 2008. (Full list...)

The 2012 NBA draft was held on June 28, 2012, at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, and broadcast in the United States on ESPN. The New Orleans Hornets won the National Basketball Association (NBA) draft lottery on May 30. For the first time in draft history, the first two players selected were from the same school: Anthony Davis (pictured) and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist were teammates at Kentucky. The 2012 draft also set a record of six players being selected from one school (Kentucky), and was the first draft in which the first three selections were all college freshmen from the same conference (the Southeastern Conference). Bernard James was the oldest player ever drafted, being 27 years old at the time of the draft. Four of the players selected never played in an NBA game. The 2012 draft class went on to have six players who participated in an All-Star Game, seven players who combined for ten championships, as well as having Anthony Davis and Damian Lillard both named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021. More than 20 video games have been developed since 2008 by Supermassive Games, a British video game developer. Until 2018, they worked almost exclusively with PlayStation, first working on downloadable content for LittleBigPlanet. The studio published their first game, Big Match Striker, in September 2010. Supermassive worked on multiple games that utilised the PlayStation Move motion controller including Start the Party! and Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves, both of which were released in 2010. In 2015, the studio started to focus mostly on interactive-drama, survival-horror video games, starting with their breakout title, Until Dawn, which won the BAFTA Games Award for Original Property in 2016. With the success of Until Dawn, the studio continued to expand the universe, releasing two spin-off titles; Until Dawn: Rush of Blood (2016) and The Inpatient (2018), for the PlayStation VR. In August 2019, Supermassive released Man of Medan, the first game in The Dark Pictures Anthology, and in 2022, they released The Quarry, the spiritual successor to Until Dawn. Supermassive's next game, The Casting of Frank Stone, a game set in the Dead by Daylight universe, is scheduled for release on 3 September 2024. (Full list...)
