The Great Edit War

DISCLAIMER: I DID NOT JOIN WIKIPEDIA IN 2019, BUT THIS IS THAT "GREAT" EDIT WAR RETOLD.

The story

On the last day of March 2019, "General Tomfoolery" was replaced by "General Jerryfoolery". Why? General Tomfoolery was not available for that year's fun. However, he later came back.

The next day was April Fools' Day. Then, General Jerryfoolery came back - sparking one of the greatest edit wars of all time. Then, after accepting that Tom would NEVER EVER catch Jerry, he was flipped upside-down for a bit before being reverted. Then, it was changed to "General Seinfeldfoolery" - in honour of the hit TV sitcom (I don't like it much) - under the rationale "Festivus is now officially celebrated on May 22", before being reverted. Then the general became general relativity, before it was reverted.

A request was made for permanent WP:BLACKLOCK on this page due to an obvious edit war. The result was Fully Protected for a period of 9 billion years. In response to the above request, the title of the section was changed to "General TomAndJerryPlusSomeSeinfeldAndABitOfGeneralRelativityfoolery" as a compromise. It was later reverted, with the following summary: Jerry will win the edit war.

This was recognized as the official declaration of the Great April Fools' Day Edit War.

The war

The page's title was changed to "General Kenobi." The Jedi shall prevail! It then changed to "General CrabRave-ery" (in reference to the 2018 song of the same name); then back to “General Jerryfoolery”; reverted to General Kenobi. Unfortunately, when the title changed to "General Tomfoolery/Jerryfoolery/[BLANK]foolery (please stop disputing over this!!)", he was demoted to Colonel. Then, it was changed to “No." The No was then boldened and enlarged, later shocking everyone by flipping. The No then changed to Yes and was colored #666, only to be reverted back to "No". (This is getting intense!)

Smash Mouth - All Star was then annihilated. (Seriously?) Soon, the title became not a title anymore. Then, the title was changed back to "General Jerryfoolery" but "with a hint of Crab Rave" was added - which was demoted to "Private First Class Jerryfoolery with a hint of Crab Rave" for dereliction of duty. A "No." was added. It was still making everyone angry by flipping. The "No." was converted to a "Yes!" on the grounds that Wikipedia should be a positive place. The title was then classified and expunged by the SCP Foundation.[1]

The title was edited to "public static final first class Jerryfoolery extends Tomfoolery implements Expunged, SectionHeader, FlippedYesExclamation", likely in an attempt to appease all the edit warring parties. The upside down text was then deleted.[2] It was then edited to "public static final first class Jerryfoolery extends Tomfoolery implements Expunged 3 & Knuckles with a side of macaroni and General Kenobi to the power of Graham's number plus one"; put between "Super" and "director's cut limited edition"; replaced with "Maybe so"; "GNU General Public Tomfoolery" and finally "GNU General Public Jerryfoolery".[3]

All the previous text was crossed out per WP:MADCUZBAD, WP:IDONTLIKEIT, and meta:meta:meta, but this was reverted. The title became "GNU General Public TomandBen Jerryfoolery (Now with more egg!)". It then vanished, leaving only a dot. The title reappeared, with the following: "Tom and Ben and Jerry's foolery." However, the "foolery" was expunged by the SCP Foundation. That section was then declared SCP-846566657465717565836589657865678270 by the SCP Foundation, named after the HTML character codes corresponding to the string "TABAJAGKASAYANACRF", an acronym for Tom and Ben and Jerry and General Kenobi and Seinfeld and Yes and No and Crab Rave's foolery, which eventually ended being changed to "BenandTom Jerryfoolery."

Soon, it became its own country. The title got changed to General Motors and soon "All of the Trickery of Oganesson Sobble". Then, Oganesson Sobble became SCP-846566657465717565836589657865678270 again. The section title was made pink for no particular reason, but it was made unpinked for no particular reason. It became "The Gen 8 Female Trainer angrily yelling at the Oganesson Sobble" and then... Ahem, lets see here... "Jerryfoolery extends Tomfoolery implements Expunged, SectionHeader, FlippedYesExclamation, SCP846566657465717565836589657865678270, Acronyms, Seinfeld, 🅱enandTom, IDONTLIKEIT, EditWar, Madness, The Purge, WingDingsText, StuffEditorsForgotToPutHere (now including egg) WAH WAH WAH WAH Aka: How I learned to kill Wikipedia, Cyberspace, and all other foolery of the Oganesson Sobble on a stick".[4][5]

An editor (to respect privacy, I chose not to name whom) played the greatest prank yet in the ongoing edit war by changing the title to "Other pranks." Then it was just "H**l", later getting blanked. Then it was “Qeej Hlub Koj”.[6][7] Then it was Spikefoolery and soon Skewed beyond recognition. Then it was YouTube downloader, which was replaced by the Copyright Strike downloader.

Minutes later, it was the Bee Movie script[8] and the title was then blanked.[9]

After that, the new title was: "Jerryfoolery extends Tomfoolery implements Expunged, SectionHeader, FlippedYesExclamation, SCP846566657465717565836589657865678270, Acronyms, Seinfeld, 🅱enandTom, IDONTLIKEIT, EditWar, Madness, The Purge, WingDingsText, StuffEditorsForgotToPutHere (now including egg) WAH WAH WAH WAH Aka: How I learned to kill Wikipedia, Cyberspace, and all other foolery of the Oganesson Sobble on a stick". That's a mouthful. It's now... *inhales deeply* "Jerryfoolery extends Tomfoolery implements Expunged, SectionHeader, FlippedYesExclamation, SCP846566657465717565836589657865678270, Acronyms, Seinfeld, 🅱enandTom, IDONTLIKEIT, EditWar, Madness, The Purge, WingDingsText, StuffEditorsForgotToPutHere (now including egg, (part of a complete breakfast)) WAH WAH WAH WAH Aka: How I learned to kill Wikipedia, Cyberspace, and all other foolery of the Nobelium Scorbunny. The title later was reverted to the previous revision and made worse - it continued becoming WORSE for the next few minutes. The title was then: "Jerryfoolery extends Tomfoolery implements Expunged, SectionHeader, FlippedYesExclamation, SCP846566657465717565836589657865678270, Acronyms, Seinfeld, 🅱enandTom, IDONTLIKEIT, EditWar, Madness, The Purge, WingDingsText, StuffEditorsForgotToPutHere (now including egg) WAH WAH WAH WAH Aka: How I learned to kill Wikipedia, Cyberspace, and all other foolery of the Oganesson Sobble on a stick".[12][13] The title changed to the Gettysburg address and, not long, Dr. Strangelove.

Then the whole page was deleted, marking the end to a epic edit war.

Sadly, the deletion was undone, and the section title was replaced by the Gettysburg Address again; restarting the Great Edit War. Then, all the Wikipedians active in 2019 pleaded for Jimbo to save them. That plea was short-lived, as the title changed into a small m. Then, it was referring to a head of a guy that will randomly pop up from the left side of the screen.[14][15][16][17]

Then it was the part of Shrek when Donkey flies with pixie dust, which was later replaced by "SUPER SMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH BURRRRROOTHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!"[18] That, in turn, was changed to the fate of poor Waluigi in Super Smash Brothers. Waluigi's fate was then removed, succeeded by Ya like Jazz?. The meme was then taken out in favour of "Yeet", which had a link to the Duck Song.[19] The title changed to "No. The sun is a deadly lazer".[20]

Eventually, it went full circle back to General Tomfoolery.[21][22][23][24][25] As good old Charlie Brown always says, "Oh, Good Grief!"[26]. That edit war is really annoying me, as a user of Wikipedia, to edit.[27] Then the title was Thomasfoolery,[28] which was swapped for Percyfoolery.[29]

Percyfoolery was then removed, in favour of a Star Wars joke. The Oganesson Sobble returned and took over Mars, dethroning the King of Mars (actually the 16th President of the United States, who did nothing wrong in the first place). "Gonna go biking for a bit, do your worst while I'm gone". Then it was changed to "General Jar Jar Binks[30][31]foolery"; "General Jar Jar Binksfoolery & Knuckles with a hint of egg + the Oganesson Sobble" and the Cyberspace eventually took over.

That was changed to "Happy April Fools Day Everyone!", reverting to "General Jar Jar Binksfoolery & Knuckles with a hint of egg + the Oganesson Sobble, both of which have been taken over by Cyberspace (but then cyberspace was destroyed by the Nobelium Scorbunny)". Soon, it returned to "General Tomfoolery".

At 11:58 PM, it was changed to "Happy April Fools Day!". At 11:59 PM, 7_qz changed it to "General Tom/Jerry/Oganesson Sobble foolery + egg" and it stayed that way for the final minute of April Fools Day 2019. This was the final result.

2 April 2019 - epilogue of The Great Edit War

At 12:00 AM, the Edit War over the title became an awful joke that in no way could be considered funny. That wasn't a joke, it was a failed attempt to reclaim the title line in the final seconds of April Fools Day. Later, the title became a watermelon.[32] Then, it became "General Kakyoinfoolery"; back to "General Tom/Jerry/Oganesson Sobble foolery + egg"; replaced by "General Uncle Samfoolery"; back to "General Kakyoinfoolery" and General Kaijufoolery.

Finally, to bring peace, editors suggested that the title will permanently be named ""The section title of the article that people kept edit warring over" foolery".
