O'Jump is a French sports equipment manufacturer that specialises in gymnastics, protective padding and landing areas for gymnastics, combat sports (in particular, wrestling), athletics (pole vaulting, high jump), climbing, parkour, as well as team sports (rugby, volleyball, handball).
Its logo features a kangaroo.
Owned by the Abéo group and distributed exclusively by the company GYMNOVA, O’Jump supplied the 1992, 1996 and 2012 Olympic Games with wrestling mats approved by the international federation (UWW).
Historique
[edit]Created in 1977 in Roubaix by André Duriez with five employees, O’Jump is a rapidly growing SME that relocated in 1991 to Neuville-en-Ferrain (in the Nord department of France) to a building of 2,700 m2. O'Jump gradually became a specialist with a worldwide reputation in mats and impact absorbing equipment, in particular for wrestling. Its French factory of 4,500 m2, now based in Wattrelos, is located in the Martinoire business park, the oldest business park in Wattrelos and the first industrial zone in the Nord department (1959).
Thanks to the reputation of its products, O’Jump is selected to supply its first Olympic Games in 1992 in Barcelona, followed by two more in 1996 in Atlanta and in 2012 in London.
O'Jump was purchased by the Abéo group in 2004 and then distributed exclusively by Gymnova with the aim of achieving steady growth, in particular internationally. Gymnova, a specialist in gymnastics, complements the O’Jump range with the creation of dedicated modules for parkour.
Competitions supplied
[edit]O'Jump has supplied equipment for many international competitions, including:
- the Barcelona Olympic Games in 1992 ;
- the Atlanta Olympic Games in 1996 ;
- the London Olympic Games in 2012.
Warrior Adventure halls
[edit]O’Jump protective padding was chosen to equip the Warrior Adventure halls, a sports complex concept based on a Ninja Warrior type indoor obstacle course.
