Hello,

For the moment I shall assume that this page exists for the purpose of explaining to the Wikipedia community who I am and what I am doing here in as much as I am a very new contributor. I have been using Wiki as an anon. user for a number of years to aid in my personal research in the field of Historical Technology for which Wiki is a very good resourse.

Personal information as follows:

Occupation: Registered Professional Engineer, doing occassional consulting work. (I retired after 37 years in the electrical utility industry, specifically in power generation and now work when I feel like it.)

Physical Location: Near site of NASA's Johnson Space Center.

Age: Way over 18.

Hobby: Collecting, restoring and researching old & antique scientific instruments. Less emphasis now on the collecting part and more interest in the research.

Reason for becomming a Wiki contributor: I came across an orphaned page -Rubul mujayyab- while searching for information on Arabic Quadrants. The page, it seemed to me, could benefit from the information I had already gathered on the subject from close examination of an example in my own collection. The information I had so far found in Wiki was fragmentary and scattered and by no means gave a satisfactory description of the instrument. I decided that this page would be the perfect spot to correct that deficiency.

I've started on Rubul mujayyab but am presently a long way from finished. Any tips, suggestions or critisms from the more experienced Wiki membership would be greatly appreciated.
