Anand Shankar (Tamil: ஆனந்த் சங்கர்) is an Indian film director and screenwriter, primarily working in Tamil cinema. Shankar started his career as an assistant director to Siddharth Anand in Anjaana Anjaani. He also assisted producer-director AR Murugadoss in movies such as Thuppakki and Ezham Arivu.^[1] He is currently working on Arima Nambi, an upcoming Tamil thriller film.^[2]

Personal life

Anand Shankar is the grandson of playwright Komal Swaminathan.^[2] Shankar got an engineering degree in Chennai, after which he studied at the New York Film Academy.^[1]
