Cultural aftereffects of Sino Indian Conflict

[edit]

The effects of a war / conflict are quite varied and found most notably in the minds of the people involved in the conflict. The best measure of this can be found in cultural references to the war and the art that the war inspires.

Where is that aspect being covered in this Essay ? If I knew more i ould have added a new sub topic, But I only know so much and that I have put into words.

On what basis was it decided that this was my opinion? I have given a wiki link to the song and the story which it inspired.I beleive this to be a part of the effects of war and must be covered in this topic. Or you can throw works like the mahabharata or Troy (which have the main event as a war) out. RAA Ra Ra your Boat (talk) 05:58, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Just to let you know as you tagged it db-corp. Peridon (talk) 11:07, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Could you take a look at this article, particularly at the edits of User:Profitoftruth85[1][2], which seem to be deliberately inserting bias (with misleading edit summaries) to an otherwise very stable and well-written lead[3]? Particularly problematic are his violations of WP:POINT and WP:RECENTISM in this case.117.194.192.68 (talk) 20:10, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

Salil Chowdhury

[edit]

Hi, today I received a warning for not "vandalizing" the contents of Salil Chowdhury. The section I edited was "family". I strongly object to your accusation and threatening to ban me from updating the entry. The original entry of Salil Chowdhury was created by us and later somebody else has mutilated and unofficially updated it. I have tried my best to insert the true information about the "family" which is easily verifiable from many sources. Anybody complaining to you otherwise is trying his/her best to spread lies. The truth I wrote about the family is verifiable in the court of law. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Salilda admirer (talkcontribs) 15:01, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

You have indeed vandalized the article, which falls under the category of Biography of a person. All sources show that Salil Choudhury's wife was Sabita Choudhury, a noted singer herself. One of his daughters, Antara is also a well known singer. Your edits removed these details and you inserted some dubious names without providing any reliable sources. Please refrain from vandalizing the article, as it may lead to a block without any further notice.Shovon (talk) 08:48, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

I-League

[edit]

Clam down, you don't have to worry so much.I have created the page, been maintaining it since beginning.Whatever I have edited is according to source(http://www.kolkatafootball.com/ileague_2010-11/table.html) .I don't care if your a East Bengal Fan or Mohun Bagan fan, rules are rules.Matches have been postponed and Round 18 is finished simple. --- Ash647 (talk) 10:38, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

As I said earlier, you seriously need a crash course on Wikipedia policies. You might have started the article, but that does not make you the owner of the article. Also, refer towhat reliable sources are. Kolkatafootball.com cannot be termed as a reliable source. According to the AIFF site, "Round 15" is yet to be finished. Also, try to comprehend what is being said before jumping guns. I said that it is immaterial whether I am an East Bengal fan or not, I had reverted your edits because those were against Wikipedia policies. I have requested the page to be fully protected temporarily so that a consensus is reached. As far as I can see, the only solution is to remove the entire table. Shovon (talk) 19:05, 16 March 2011 (UTC)
Now remove the table that is what you want isn't it.Go ahead --- Ash647 (talk) 10:38, 16 March 2011 (UTC)
Sigh! Guess, I'll have to repeat myself. Please refer to Wikipedia policies before you contribute any further. Although, you have created more than 100 articles, most of these have the same problem, viz. providing proper reference through reliable sources. That's why many of your articles got deleted too. Your grasp on English language seems weak as well. Without blaming me, if you would devote some time in rectifying these issues, it will be an immense help for Wikipedia.Shovon (talk) 18:20, 19 March 2011 (UTC)

Dude justify your barnstar, your contributions seem far poor than an blind editor like me.Hope to see more contributions from you on Indian Football. --- Ash647 (talk) 10:38, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

db-nonsense

[edit]

The article Naseeba Channa is a coherent biography. It has a lot of issues, but it certainly isn't nonsense; this criterion does not apply. ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 17:46, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

When I had tagged the article, it came through as pure nonsense. If you looked at the timeline of the article's subject along with the name of schools she went to and she worked at, it was pretty clear that the editor was cooking up stories. The section titled Fashion was totally incoherent. Also, in one section, the editor spoke about Naseeba's poor grasp of the English language, then goes on to add that she could not take up English as one of the subjects and in the very next paragraph says that she joined some school as an English teacher. The whole thing came across as a pure joke to me. Thanks. Shovon (talk) 18:07, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

I would like to request assistance on Indo-Pakistani War of 1965 page. User M.A.R 1993 has started removing neutral sources and started adding non NPOV sources. He is continuously changes made by other editors. Thanks.--UplinkAnsh (talk) 19:59, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

your recent reverts in Kolkata article

[edit]

hello. This is regarding your recent rollback in the Kolkata article that you marked as vandalism: (diff).

Although the edits that you reverted did not have properwikification, most of the contents that were added were not onlyin good faith, they were also factually correct (most were referenced). Although it would have been OK if you just reverted it, identification of those edits as vandalism is inappropriate (see Wikipedia:Vandalism#What_is_not_vandalism). Please undo your report of vandalism. And kindly refrainn from biting newcomers. If you want to be constructive, you can help by restoring much of the contents that were added by User:Sshontu after proper wikification. - Subh83(talk | contribs) 05:56, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

Subh83, please refer to reliable sources and the referencing manuals followed in Wikipedia. FYKI, Wikipedia articles themselves cannot be used as reference. I would have assumed good faith with Sshontu had it been the first such case. But unfortunately he has repeated the same pattern of edits even after his earlier edits were reverted. Also, I do understand the policies and what is what. Where did you get the idea that I have submitted a report of vandalism? Please understand the policies first before jumping the gun. Thanks. Shovon (talk) 08:33, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
Although the wikipedia articles included by User:Sshontu shouldn't have been placed as "reference", they indeed form valid source for verifiability when used as intra-wiki link, where the cross-references can be found at the linked articles (seeWikipedia:Tutorial/Wikipedia_links). Thus it's just a matter of wikification that was wrong. It was not vandalism.
And had you clicked the diff link at the end of my first sentence, and looked at the edit summary of your revert, you would have realized that you did tag your revert as vandalism using Twinkle.
And please do not use words to purposefully start a conflict (seeWikipedia:What_Wikipedia_is_not#Wikipedia_is_not_a_battleground). I do not hold a gun and abstain from violence. What I am up for is WP:DONTBITE and WP:NOTVAND, which I believe every Wikipedia editor should be aware of. - Subh83(talk | contribs) 16:16, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
