if for whatever reason you stumble upon this and this is 100% how not to use a user page, please flag me, and i'll change it to compliance. informality is an intentioned choice here, but that can be forgone too.
hi, i'm [REDACTED] and i apparently made this account years ago for the following edit:
i also made one other edit recently. that's it. i just don't want my IP displayed.
if something really stands out, i'll make that edit. otherwise i don't. usually what stands out to me is missing information; if i can find a credible source that validates the part of my brain that says, "oh, that should be there, but it isn't" and i'm passionate about the topic enough, that's when i'll log back in.
sometimes, questionable grammar (e.g. too/two/to & there/their/there) will also make me log back in to fix it because who isn't distracted by such petty grammar issues? i'll also fix typos, but they don't nearly elicit the same level of annoyance. an exception to this is if an edit is so out of pocket compared to the rest of the article that it actually gives the page some (fictitious) charm. such moments serve as a friendly reminder that this place is truly an encyclopedia by and for the people, which is a beautiful concept, even if imperfect.
if i see your message i'll probably entertain it (at some point). thanks for checking and gracing me with your view and attention.
contrary to my first edit, i wrote this sober.
