J043947.08+163415.7, commonly shortened as J0439+1634, is a quasar[1] that is unusually bright,[2] with estimates placing its luminosity at 600 trillion suns.[3] It emerged during the Epoch of Reionization.[3] The MMT Telescope was used to discover it.[2]
