Jeanne Carroll born 1931 in Ruleville, Mississippi. She was started her musical instruction with a local gospel choir. In 1946 she moved to Chicago, Il. where she studied singing at the Lincoln Center. She started singing in blues and jazz clubs. She worked with Little Brother Montgomery recording Vicksburg Blues and Penny Pinchin' Blues.
