Les' Copaque Production Sdn Bhd or simply Les’ Copaque (stylized as LES' COPAQUE) is a publishing company and 3D computer animation studio based in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. Les' Copaque also makes production involving ideatory, voice recording and post-production that comes with its animated works.
History
[edit]Les' Copaque is established in December 2005 by Haji Burhanuddin Md Radzi and Hajah Ainon Ariff. They, along with three Universiti Multimedia (MMU) graduates started the company. Usamah Zaid bin Yasin are one of the people who helped establish this company and now holds the position of Creative Director at Les' Copaque. They named their studio after the Malay term " Last Kopek " which means "last chance" and changed the spelling to sound like French.

Their first animated project, Misi Mustahak, which won four awards in 2005: Best of the 10th MVA 2005 and the Gold Medal for Animated Short Film (Open) at the 10th Malaysian Video Awards (MVA); Tertiary Student Projects (Creative Multimedia) at Corridor Raya Multimedia-APICTA 2005; and Best of Multimedia University Collection 2005 at Creative Pixels, the National Art Gallery has attracted the interest of publishers to establish an animation company with them.
Les' Copaque's services were used to produce a community service message as well as a Japanese GT commercial in 2006. The company also went on to produce the short animated feature Gang: The Adventure Begins, which won overall champion, Best Animated Film and Best Animated Director at the Short Film Awards. 2006.
ln 2007, Les' Copaque introduced an animated series, named Upin & Ipin in conjunction with celebrating Ramadan and Aidilfitri, while working on a film called Geng: The Adventure Begins. The film was released on 12 February 2009, with a budget of 6.3 million ringgit. [2], making it one of the highest-grossing Malaysian films in history.
In 2014, Les' Copaque established its own animation academy because it realizes that education in this field is very important in developing a 3D production regardless of being an employee, entrepreneur and owner of the production. The field of 3D Animation is no longer only dependent on producing cartoons, but this field has expanded to several branches. The Les' Copaque Animation Academy was developed not only to meet the needs of the market but LCAA is also complementary to the field of education at the skill level up to the university level.
