Philosophy Compass (journal) Philosophy Compass is an online peer-reviewed philosophy journal established by Blackwell Publishers (now Wiley-Blackwell) in 2006[1]. One of eight Compass journals[2], Philosophy Compass publishes peer-reviewed articles which summarise the latest developments in a particular area of the field. The journal, like all the Compass journals, is aimed at an international readership including academic researchers, postgraduates students and advanced undergraduates.

Aims of the Journal

The aim of Philosophy Compass is to be a reference tool for researchers and students, working in the field of philosophy[3]. According to the journal’s publicly available 'Notes for Authors' document[4], articles are intended to be about 5,000 words long, and are available to readers in PDF and XML format, organized into annual volumes and monthly issues[5].

Editorial Structure

Each journal section is edited by one or more section editors[6], and also has a large, international editorial board who advise those section editors[7]. The Editor-in-Chief of the journal is Brian Weatherson of Rutgers University [8]. Weatherson runs a philosophy-themed blog, "Thoughts, Arguments, and Rants".
