The National Healthcare Wikipedian in Residence (WiR) is first of its kind in the world. This residency is taken up by a medical doctor and seeks to integrate existing hospital library knowledge infrastructure. The aim of this programme is to enable open access to quality educational resources and medical information for patients and healthcare providers. This programme involves public-facing outreach initiatives at a national and international level, reinforcing and prompting the HSE’s commitment to provide open access to healthcare information.
