Muchuu Biography: Brother-sister duo Muchuu, wrote and recorded music from 2008-2011. The combination of George's piano arrangements and Millie's melodies and poetic lyrics makes for beautiful, hooky, electro music with an oriental feel. The name 'Muchuu' comes from Millie's love of all things Japanese – it means to be in an ecstatic delirious trance.

Their debut album ADVENTURE WE GO was blogged around the globe, featured in the NME, made ‘Muchuu’ Paul Lester’s ‘Band of the Day’ in the Guardian and achieved interviews, radio play, and chatter across BBC Radio. Muchuu were also chosen to play live alongside Florence and the Machine. A Maida Vale session was also secured.

As proof of their originality and popularity, Muchuu were then asked to perform at Glastonbury but had to turn down the offer due to Muchuu’s commitments. But other major UK festivals soon had them on stage including Bestival, Jersey, Underage Festival, and HowTheLightGetsIn at Hay-on-Wye. Muchuu were even whisked off to perform in Norway.

With their first single release SOMEBODY TELL ME, Muchuu had commercial success with the song being used for a TV advertising campaign.

Their second album, ON BEYOND shows a maturing of their style and song writing ability. Fifteen beautiful, ethereal pieces crystallising their unique musical style. Once again, George’s lush piano playing is complimented perfectly by Millie’s magical vocals and thought provoking lyrical content.

BBC’S ADAM KENNEDY ‘Echoes of kindred spirits – and clear influences – CocoRosie and Lykke Li are audible, as folk-grounded artists unafraid to explore/exploit basic electronic beats and found sounds... they gloss lo-fi instrumentation with lush production adroit enough to equal any luxurious pop you care to mention’

THE GUARDIAN’S PAUL LESTER ‘Their songs really are quite quirkily commercial, making Muchuu seem like the Ting Tings' more experimental kid siblings, but they're not easily forgettable. These melodies will stay with you, haunt you, like childhood memories you didn't even know you had’

BREAKING MORE WAVES ‘let’s be thankful that Muchuu are back..here’s a rather sparklingly gorgeous piece of pretty electro pop…with that distinctive cute vocal over fluttery woah-ohs and crystal showers of electronica’

THE RECOMMENDER ‘Their magical trip of juxta-beats, melodic choruses and other-worldly pop will equally entice fans of Lykki Li and Bjork…with music that transports you to the other worlds you thought only existed in your childhood’

SHATTERED SATELLITE ‘Their pop music is gorgeously innocent, yet holds crimson undertones…’

POPTRONIK EQ MUSIC BLOG ‘...full of enchanting twinkling synth pop melodies, and soothingly ambient vocals. This is a real retreat of escapism into an oasis of gentle melancholy electronica’
