Project description
[edit]Wikipedia is the biggest and most well-used reference document in the world. Over half a billion people visit it each month, which include a large fraction of students as well as the general public. As a result, it is important to make sure that it contains accurate and complete information. Wikipedia is far from complete, though, and there are many articles about physics and astronomy that are in need of writing. This project will consist of looking through Wikipedia articles to identify several related physics and/or astronomy articles that either need creating or improving, and then improving those articles collaboratively, live on Wikipedia, guided by an experienced Wikipedia editor. As the style and referencing of Wikipedia is very similar to that used in science writing, this experience will give a fair idea of what it is like to write a review paper on a physics topic.
