• The reason I chose this article is because I believe it is very relevant to landscape architecture and what I am studying. I also think it brings background into how landscape architecture as a practice began.

I believe that the introduction sentence to the article gives a brief and thorough description of what will be stated in the rest of the article.

• Does the Lead include an introductory sentence that concisely and clearly describes the article's topic?
• Does the Lead include a brief description of the article's major sections?
• Does the Lead include information that is not present in the article?
• Is the Lead concise or is it overly detailed?

Content

Guiding questions

I believe that the content is very relevant, especially for people like me, who study landscape architecture and it's history. It is also up to date being that the last edit was made on December 25, 2019.

• Is the article's content relevant to the topic?

• Is there content that is missing or content that does not belong?

Tone and Balance

I think the article is very neutral and basically all factual, giving information of what garden design is, how it began, and important places where garden design has been noted.

• Are there any claims that appear heavily biased toward a particular position?
• Are there viewpoints that are overrepresented, or underrepresented?
• Does the article attempt to persuade the reader in favor of one position or away from another?

As far as I can tell most information is backed up and sources are linked all throughout the article.

• Are all facts in the article backed up by a reliable secondary source of information?
• Are the sources thorough - i.e. Do they reflect the available literature on the topic?
• Are the sources current?
• Check a few links. Do they work?

Organization

In my opinion the article is very well organized, beginning with the description of garden design and then moves into elements of garden design and then types of gardens seen around the world. I also did not notice any outstanding grammatical errors.

• Is the article well-written - i.e. Is it concise, clear, and easy to read?
• Does the article have any grammatical or spelling errors?
• Is the article well-organized - i.e. broken down into sections that reflect the major points of the topic?

Images and Media

Guiding questions

It includes some pictures but as a visual learner I always believe there could be more images. But the ones that are there I believe are captioned well and placed in important parts of the document.

• Does the article include images that enhance understanding of the topic?
• Are images well-captioned?
• Do all images adhere to Wikipedia's copyright regulations?
• Are the images laid out in a visually appealing way?

Guiding questions

In class we learn topics and discuss them, but in wikipedia the facts are pretty much presented and I like it because there are links so if there are questions stemming from what you read, chances are there will be a link you can explore to find the answers.

• What kinds of conversations, if any, are going on behind the scenes about how to represent this topic?
• How is the article rated? Is it a part of any WikiProjects?
• How does the way Wikipedia discusses this topic differ from the way we've talked about it in class?

Overall impressions

My overall impression of the article is a good one. I may be impartial because garden design fascinates me anyways but I think that the article was very to the point and informative. And I liked the organization of the article. If I were to improve anything on the article I would give a little more history on garden design and some more background to how it came to be.
