An antecedent is a stimulus or circumstance that leads to the externalization of behavior and shifts how judgments and decisions are made for a consideration that can be either problematic or unproblematic.[1] It helps in mirroring and reflecting the precursor. Positive antecedent and negative antecedent are considered the types of the antecedent. A positive antecedent propels good manners and is involved in a sage resolute. However, negative antecedent aids in restricting the negative content and way of conveying.[2]
While organisms discern an antecedent in their body, reinforcing and non-reinforcing consequences are exceeded in accordance with the settings of a situation and communication. Different factors like environment, social settings, economical problems, disputable conversations, and family environments exert a person to perform a behavior unconsciously.[3] An antecedent stimulus might be manipulated in order to avoid the reinforcing consequences under the disputable or unsettled environment for the positive aftermath.[3] According to the research, imitation is considered an effective method for positive outcomes.[4]
